Interestingly, hatch's demise will make the show much more watchable for the many people that have seen the spoilers floating around the internet. They successfully predicted the first 4 people booted off before the show started, but Richard Hatch wasn't supposed to go, according to these spoilers, for quite a while. Guess it's everyone's guess now.

philosopherking 03-02-2004 01:43 PM

according to those spoilers, who was supposed to go?

lucidity 03-02-2004 07:18 PM

Sue is so bitter. Scheesh. I'm sure they sign a release that's 2 miles long anyway, waiving their rights to sue the show/affiliates. Sue's just trying to save face and use it as some sort of ploy. Beat and dramatic.

Thank you for using the spoiler tag, as I refuse to look at it. I don't know why people go out of their way to make websites that ruin shows like Survivor. I know you don't have to look at it if you don't want to, but what is the benefit of spoiling people's fun?

Averett 03-04-2004 02:52 PM

Yay for spoiler tags!!!

happyraul 03-04-2004 06:05 PM

Sue is so stupid. She expected Hatch to walk around her? WTF?? The walkways were like 4 inches wide? How could he have walked around?? And as it was mentioned earlier, it appeared as if she just stood there inviting Hatch to come at her. He was trying to get around her, just as she was trying to get around him. I'm sure her nonexistent breasts rubbed up against him in the process, only difference was that he was naked and she was not. Had he had shorts on, she would have not make such a stink, but really it would have been virtually the same thing.

The only embarassment she suffered was a result of the show she put on tonight. Stupid.

Is that what it was about?
He rubbed against her on his way by her?
I missed both coasts' feeds because of a long power outage.

What else happened? Anything of significance?

Derwood 03-05-2004 06:21 AM

A little summary of last night's episode:

1. Kathy states that the reason she decided to vote Hatch off instead of Colby last episode was: Spoiler: She hadn't discussed voting off Colby with Lex, and so didn't want to piss him off and create friction within the tribe

2. Colby tells Shii-Ann Spoiler: That he doesn't respect the way she plays the game, saying "it's easy being the person who sits around for 3 days and writes down whatever name I tell them to." Shii-Ann doesn't argue, but knows who she is targeting now.

3. Sue Hawk Spoiler: becomes increasingly moody and distant. She doesn't sleep all night and no one can console her about the Richard incident. She decides at the reward challenge to quit the game. Her tribe is pissed that it evens up the head count between the tribes now, but Tom and Rob are thrilled because they hated her.

4. At the Reward Challenge Spoiler: the teams had to use little see-saws to try to launch food items into a basket. The team with Lex/Ethan/Colby/Jerry/Shii-Ann/Kathy wins, getting to take back the food items plus 6 shishkabobs

fnaqzna 03-05-2004 09:01 AM

Absolutely ridiculous... Sue Hawk dropping out. I thought she was tougher than that...

Sensei 03-05-2004 12:01 PM

There's an interview available at the Early Show section of cbs.com with Rich, Sue, and some Early Show host. Sue claims that Rich waved his arms in a provocative manner when he walked past her and that she changed paths because she was told' on go the route on her right (the one Rich was already on). Rich claims Sue was taunting him the entire game (noticible when she changed paths) and didn't forsee that his actions would have such a big effect on her. Finally, Burnett and CBS apparently reached an 'under$tanding' so $ue will not be filing a lawsuit against them.

Fremen 03-05-2004 06:47 PM

Thanks Derwood and Sensei.
Now I don't feel so adrift.
Appreciate it. :)

Kaos 03-05-2004 07:45 PM

It was pretty pathetic. Hatch was voted out, so it's not like he was there to remind her of what happened at each challenge.

philosopherking 03-07-2004 09:10 PM

I would've liked to have seen what would've happened when she went off had Richard not been voted out.

yournamehere 03-09-2004 07:29 AM

Well now - Colby was even on an episode of <i>Curb Your Enthusiasm</i> Sunday night.

Between that and the Schick commercials, he's getting an awful lot of exposure for someone who came in second 3 years ago.

May I direct you all to my prediction way back on page one?

/no spoiler - just an observation of American marketing practices.

Averett 03-09-2004 08:58 AM

Colby was also on a few sit coms a few years back when he first won. I'd like to see him win. He is mighty fine to look at after all ;)

Which season did Colby win, Avy?

Well, he actually would have won if he would have been smart and booted off Tina when he had the chance. That alone makes me root against him in this current game. I watch these shows to see cleverness and cunning, not chivalry and honor :p.

I hope Burnett holds off the merge for a few weeks to punish Lex and Shii Ann for being stupid and voting off the strongest member of their tribe. Honestly, who wanted to see Jerri linger around another week?

philosopherking 03-12-2004 08:35 AM

I think it was a wise move on Lex's part, it makes his role in the tribe all that more important

I agree. Lex has Jerri in his back pocket, so she will continue to vote his way. However, Shii Ann will only allow Lex to carry Jerri along for so far before Shii Ann has to vote her off to keep her sanity. I'm thinking that Ethan will realize this and scramble to get her and Kathy on his side.

Good times...

Averett 03-12-2004 10:39 AM

I hate Shii Ann. She is useless. But it was smart for them to vote off Colby, on a one-on-one player basis. Tribal speaking it was dumb. He's the strongest guy they've got.

Sniff, I guess I'll just have to watch him on his razor commercials

bucket 03-13-2004 05:18 PM

It seems like whenever the players are expecting something (merge, etc) that are made to wait. I hope this happens again. I can't stand Shii Ann.

happyraul 03-13-2004 11:53 PM

Put me down in the 'Hate Shii Ann Club' cause I hate her more than Jerri. Actually Colby summed up my feelings about the two of them quite nicely in the last episode, it was a shame to see him go. I also hope the merge doesn't happen until at least three episodes from now, so that at least one of the people that voted for Colby gets voted out, cause they are sure to lose the challenges without him.

Rubyee 03-14-2004 11:26 AM

I like Jerri. Don't know why, but I do. I also like Ethan, but thats because he is dreamy. In the end, I think I am going for Lex. I agree with most others though, when I say Shii Ann sucks.

Derwood 03-14-2004 12:00 PM

I was, but chose not to go with the "You were wrong neener neener neener" route :D

happyraul 03-17-2004 08:06 PM

Im bugged by the latest vote, even though i expected it to happen. I realize they are trying to win, but some things really are more important than winning or the money, its just sad that players like ethan and colby were in the minority. they saw the game the way I do: the end should come down to the best and most deserving players, not one wolf and a bunch of sheep, ala lex and the women. Dont take this to mean that I think all of the female survivors are worthless, I have a lot of respect for Kathy and Alicia in particular, but Jerri, Shi-Anne, and Jenna really do suck, and they should not still be there.

Fremen 03-17-2004 09:42 PM

I really do wish some huge shark would bite Robs' ass off.
That way, he wouldn't be able to talk.

philosopherking 03-17-2004 09:54 PM

I don't think losing Ethan will do much to hurt Mogo Mogo, it's not like he has ever done much in the competitions. Next week's should be interesting, looks to me like they're drawing for new tribes. Whatever happens, I just hope that Rupert is able to get away from Boston Rob, doesn't look like he wants to keep him around much longer.

Averett 03-18-2004 05:48 AM

Rupert sucks.

Anyway, when Mogo Mogo were talking about people who don't do anything, and kept mentioning Jerri, why did they not metion Shii Ann? What the hell has she done? Every challenge she's dead weight. She's been riding Kathy's coat tails the whole time. She waits to see who Kathy votes for and then votes for that person. Last week when Kathy was with the other tribe, she didn't know what to do. Then her speach? "Never underestimate my power?" The hell? What power? She's an idiot. If she happens to win (fat chance) I'll be so pissed.

Derwood 03-18-2004 06:51 AM

Probably not such a fat chance. Looking at the history of Survivor, I think there were 3 people who deserved to win (Richard, Ethan and Brian) and 4 people who did not (Tina, Vecepia, Jenna and Sandra).

The 4 people who I didn't think deserved it were for the most part coat-tail riders, people who didn't do much in challenges (individual or otherwise), and weren't much of a threat.

Interesting how my split of deserve vs. undeserved is entirely Male vs. Female. That isn't a sexist thing though, as I thought that Kathy deserved to win in Marquesas (the year Vecepia won).

dy156 03-18-2004 09:01 AM

I just wanted to say, belatedly, that voting Colby off then was a stupid move.
Why? You'd better believe that the other tribe would think the same thing about him being too strong, and try to vote him off first after the merge. Let other fight your battles for you. Jerri is not all that great an ally, because she's so annoying she'll likely be a target soon after the merge anyway. It would be better to have as strong a tribe as possible going into a merge, and, even if you want Lex to win, he should have ridden the coattails of Ethan and Colby until those two are voted off by the big merged tribe because they are both such obvious targets, meanwhile he's slipped in under the radar and will have had time to connect with the other tribemates, maybe even joining them in voting off Colby/ Ethan as a swing vote in exchange for getting rid of some of the other tribes people before he's targeted himself. That's how I'd have played it in Lex's shoes.

New episode tonight!

crfpilot 04-01-2004 08:56 PM

Nice twist tonight.

Spoiler: I'm glad it worked out for Amber, I like her.

philosopherking 04-01-2004 09:59 PM

I can't believe they're all letting Boston Rob pull the strings. When are they gonna wake up?

Averett 04-02-2004 05:08 AM

I like Boston Rob. I think he actually really cares for Ambah, as he would say :)

Derwood 04-02-2004 06:34 AM

My dream final four would be Lex, Rob, Amber and Kathy. That is 4 of the people who are playing the game the best I think.

Alicia...hasn't ever been threatened, hasn't had to play the strategy. Same goes with Big Tom.

Rupert is too nice/naive to survive in the merge.

Jenna looks like she might panic at some point.

Shii-Ann is guaranteed to cross the wrong person.

I liked Lex and Rob in their original seasons, so i cheer for them. Same with Kathy. I hated Amber on Survivor:Australia, but I don't think they ever let her personality come through on that season (she was dwarfed by Jerry face time). I really like her now.

happyraul 04-02-2004 10:22 AM

I wish Lex would have taken the opportunity to get rid of Shii-Ann by going to Jerri and Amber to vote her off. I realize that wouldn't have been a good idea for him to do because of the consequences with Kathy, but I wish he would have done it. I think Shii-Ann is Lex's biggest threats, but with Rob as his buddy now I guess he is good to go. It is interesting that Rob went to Lex to try to save Amber, leader to leader so to speak, as if it's clear to both teams who is running the show on each team. This may endanger Lex as people begin to step out of his shadow.

Averett 04-02-2004 11:29 AM

Shii-Ann should have been booted ages ago. Man I can't stand her!

Fremen 04-02-2004 01:32 PM

Rob is so phony it's a wonder the Feds haven't arrested him yet.

Sensei 04-02-2004 04:57 PM

Wow...they new Chapera is so dumb. Do Lex, Shii Ann, AND Kathy think they Rob will 'watch' each and every one of their backs? I doubt he'll even watch one of their backs. Plus, once there's a merge I wonder who Amber will be siding with. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

happyraul 04-08-2004 05:06 PM

Wow...Lex is gone.
I thought he was making a mistake voting off Ethan and Colby, and now it has come back to haunt him. He dug his own grave voting them out. If you watch at the end it even shows Shii Ann voting for Lex. Way to go buddy, vote off your strongest members, guys that will win immunity challenges for your tribe, guys that will watch your back, guys with integrity, and keep the weak like Shii Ann and Jerri in the game. I like how he was talking all about friendship while at the same time he betrayed Colby and Ethan. As if keeping Amber around wasn't part of his strategy to win. That is such bull. The truth is, he got suckered in by Boston Rob and believed his lies. He simply got outsmarted and outplayed at that point. Give credit where it is due, Boston Rob is not as stupid as some of you like to say, he knows what he needs to do, and he gets it done consistently.

EDIT: WTF was up with Kathy? I was almost sure she would give Lex immunity. I was looking forward to see how that would mix things up...oh well

wondash 04-09-2004 04:10 AM

Rob outplayed Lex, both physically and strategically. Simple as that! Even if Lex had kept Jerry and voted out Amber, I don't think it would have made any difference.

wwcd101 04-09-2004 04:26 AM

Kathy chickened out. Greed kills, I guess. Even Lex looked surprised.

It was going to be a great twist.

I think Amber would have been gone.

Thanks for listening.

Rubyee 04-09-2004 04:41 AM

You know what, I am not going to pick anymore people to root for anymore. At the beginning, I wanted Ethan to win, with Jerri in a close second. Then it moved up to Jerri, and that didn't work. So last night, I thought that Lex would be a good contender. Well, I am cursing these people, so from now on, I want Rob to win (because I hate him and if I decide to like him, he will lose).

If either Rob, Shii-Ann, Amber, or Jenna win, I will scream. This is the first season I have ever watched, so lets not make it my last.

Derwood 04-09-2004 05:57 AM

You could almost hear Lex's jaw hit the floor when Kathy kept the necklace.

Averett 04-09-2004 08:11 AM

Lex was claiming on that crappy CBS morning show that he begged Kathy not to give him the necklace. Yeah right

matteo101 04-09-2004 10:38 AM

Yeah they are so stupid, and I have to say Lex made the stupidest desision he could ever have made keeping Amber on. He can't just suck up to Rob and expect him to keep his word. It just makes no sense why he would do it. If anyone on survivor was smart they would vote of Rob the SECOND they had a chance. He will literally win every physical ammunity challenge. And he has his team whipped.

Uh, that's news to me that Shii Ann is fun to look at. But seriously, if you watched the Early Show Lex clearly states that he begged Kathy not to give him immunity and that he was relieved when she didn't.

Yeah I don't think Shii Ann isn't that great looking either...

I think Lex was full of shit on the Early Show. But then again, these reality shows are edited pretty clevearly..

philosopherking 04-11-2004 09:05 PM

I thought Lex and Kathy looked like an old married couple when Rob was breaking the news to them, it was funny. I started this season despising Rob, but he has grown on me. If he makes it to the final 2 I think they have to vote him to win just because of how well he manipulated the whole bunch.

Derwood 04-12-2004 05:34 AM

I love Rob! He is the epitome of a great Survivor player......Good Cop with the other Survivors, Bad Cop in the private interviews. I hope he wins it all!

And though I'm sad to see Lex go, I can't feel bad about watching Amber some more. That girl gets hotter every time I look at her!

His name is the Robfather. They've already used that term on the show.

Didn't they make the comparison to him and the godfather during the Marquesas season? I seem to remember some commercials to that effect. I didn't think it fit him very well back then, but I think he's definitly playing the part now.

Daval 04-16-2004 04:43 AM

Well.

I must now say that Rupert, Big Tom, and Alicia now deserve to lose this game.

Kathy was damn right. She told them flat out what the deal was and that this was their only chance to get anywhere in the game.

I can't believe they were so stupid. I can't wait to see their shocked faces when they are picked off one-by-one.

I now hope boston rob wins this whole damn thing. He is so firmly in control of his followers that they now show no signs of independant thought.

My hats off to you rob.

Sensei 04-16-2004 05:23 AM

In the preview, they indicated that there would be a power play to to undermine Rob's influence. If Shii Ann, Alicia, and Jenna can pull either Tom or Rupert then they will have the votes needed to take out Rob. I consider this unlikely as the three ladies haven't exactly been active schemers this series while Tom and Rupert don't seem too enthused about leaving an existing alliance to join one with three women. Forget about Amber and a 'Girl Power' alliance, she has Rob P-Whipped.

Averett 04-16-2004 06:57 AM

Rob is in control of this game... I personally like him a lot.

Why is Shii Ann still there? She's making baby Jesus cry. I can't stand looking at her wasting space every single week. I like how Jeff was all "Shii Ann, why are you still here?" or whatever it was he said last night. I think he's sick of her too...

happyraul 04-16-2004 11:03 AM

Oh man, my hatred for Shii Ann went up a couple of notches in the last episode. She had too much airtime. Here's to hoping Rob engineers her demise next week. It's a shame she is this far, as we will have to suffer her on the jury. The thing that pissed me off more than anything else is how she was all chummy with Kathy in this episode, presumably having voted for Amber, and yet last week she voted for Lex. That bitch needs to be made to walk a plank or something.

Sensei 04-16-2004 12:49 PM

Wow, there's so much hatred on this thread for Shii Ann. She's not exactly my favorite but not every once of my body wants to see her go. I just looked up the Survivor: Thailand site and reminded myself how she go voted out. A reminder: Burnett put both tribes on the same beach without merging them. Lil Shii Devil assumed there was a merge and started making alliances with the other tribe. Whoops.

philosopherking 04-17-2004 08:41 PM

Allstars is starting to become as boring as Thailand was. Shii Ann will be next, it's too predictable. We can all hope that someone will try to mix things up, but that likely won't happen. They'll all want to stick with Boston Rob as long as possible and he and Amber will likely end up in the final two. Besides, even if they wanted to get rid of Rob, he'll keep winning imunity; nobody else there is competition to him in that department.

philosopherking 04-22-2004 08:09 PM

My liking of Shii Ann went up after this weeks episode. I'm glad she stuck in there and messed things around a little bit, makes it slightly more entertaining. I'm just glad that Alicia's gone, she has been even more annoying than Shii Ann. I don't see how she can fault her for celebrating her immunity in that way, I'm sure she would've done the same thing; heck, I know I would have. If everyone else is gunning for me and I beat them, hell yeah I'll rub it in their face. It's not like they weren't already treating her lack crap back in the camp anyway.

I'm still hanging in and watching as this is something I do with my children. However, is it my imagination or is this a fairly boring show this season? I love that Shii Ann won immunity and shook things up -- it added a little element of "fun" to the show. Although Boston Rob has grown on me, I can't believe the group didn't wise up and vote him out. I'm almost willing to bet he will win. I must admit, it wouldn't bother me if he did as the rest of them are playing like fools (including my old favorite, Rupert.)

happyraul 04-23-2004 11:59 AM

Alicia was being a big baby in this episode. The had to put somebody's name down, they had no choice. It's like in one of my classes last spring, we were in groups of 4, and we had to rate each person every day, except you had to give everyone a different rating. So you had to give one person a 0, someone else a 1, etc...up to 3. So just because I gave somebody a 0, doesn't mean that they have to get mad at me about it. Someone had to get it.

Sensei 04-24-2004 05:31 PM

I love when Amber told Shii Ann "Yeah but if I lie to Rob, he'll still believe me." Watching Shii Ann's reaction was like watching a baby opening her eyes for the first time!

Kaos 04-25-2004 06:59 PM

Looks like Rob will make it to the final 2, but considering who will be on the jury, (ie Lex, Kathy, Alicia) are these people going to let the guy who backstabbed them all to win the million?

philosopherking 04-25-2004 08:14 PM

Judging from past seasons, the jury is usually able to put aside their personal feelings to award the person who played the game the best.

FINALLY!!!

Spoiler: I am so glad Shii Ann is gone!

yay :p

Derwood 04-29-2004 05:22 PM

Dude, use the spoiler tag since the show hasn't aired on the west coast yet....

Averett 04-29-2004 05:38 PM

I didn't think that should be an issue.. Since this does say possible spoilers :p

But I'll tag it

I haven't watched the show yet, or read beneath the spoiler white-out, but I can pretty much guess by your reaction who got the boot. :D

Sensei 04-29-2004 07:28 PM

OK, i waited two hours to post a response so everyone has seen this except for those on the West Coast, where it is 8:26. If someone decides to read this thread in the middle of an episode then s/he deserves to hear me say that Shii Ann is finally toast. While Mark Burnett fooled no one that Jenna was in danger of getting voted out, you gotta admire the lil' Shii Devil's efforts. The came in second in the immunity challenge (which was poorly designed in my opinion. Give them more than a few matches!) and left Amber stunned when she finally did get voted out. (Shii Ann has a point, Amber would win if left unchecked.)

Tom's son Bo kicks ass. Did you see him down that live worm? I bet nothing would be more enteraining than spending a night relaxing on the front porce of their farm in Arkansas. Bo really is a spitting image of dear ol' Big Tom.

philosopherking 04-30-2004 02:38 PM

As annoying as she was, I hated to see Shii Ann go. She was the only one left that was actually doing anything of interest. Thailand here we come.

Fremen 05-07-2004 12:05 AM

Anybody still think Rob is going to win the money?

The way he fucked over Tom, (which the dumbass deserved for siding with Rob), makes me think he fucked himself over at the same time.
Did you see the jurys' faces? Kinda stunned looking.
I liked the way Tom paused to catch Robs' eye when he was leaving. Made me laugh. :D

One thing that was cool was the surprise second car.
I sure felt bad for the ones left behind, though.
Can you believe those two wanted a share of the candy? Sheesh!

Piston Honda 05-07-2004 04:18 AM

I agree, Rob has no chance IMO.

Going in to last night, I thought Rupert was a goner. I never believed for a second that he and Jenna would make it to the final four with Rob and Amber.

As much of an ass as he is, the bit where Rob started the fight between Tom and Rupert was a slick move.

What was Rob and Amber's thinking in getting rid of Tom? The simple fact that he'd probably beat either of them in front of the jury? As far as a jury vote, at this point, I'd have to think Rupert would be the favorite if he can make it that far. He'll probably need to win immunity twice to get that far, though.

gnl3434 05-07-2004 05:42 AM

My wife and are at odds about Rob. She says he is going to win and I say he has no chance in hell. He screwwed to many people over to get where he is. My pick is Amber and Rupert and Jenna deserve to lose for trusting Rob. They had a chance to get rid of him and Amber and they didn't. So screw em they deserve whatever they get.

happyraul 05-07-2004 07:54 AM

The way I see it, nobody stood a chance against Tom in the final two. If Rob and Amber are in the final two, he will lose. Actually Amber will win against anyone if she makes it to the final two. So in order for Rob to have a chance of winning he must be up against Rupert or Jenna. That can happen if Amber gets voted out somehow in the next episode, or if, when down to 2 people, Amber and Rob do not get immunity. Whoever the winner is, they will pick Amber to get voted out since they have a better chance of winning against Rob.

I was thinking with all the times they have people choose a partner whenever they win, like with the second car, they may give the winner a choice of who to pick for a second million dollars. Anyone think that is likely?

kutulu 05-07-2004 09:05 AM

When it comes down to jury votes, people do tend to respect the game. The game is about tricking people into trusting you and Rob has done that better than most winners. He's also won more individual challenges than anyone else and almost single-handedly won a few team challenges for his team.

Jenna, Rupert, and Tom are all just dumb. They all deserve to lose.

Rubyee 05-07-2004 11:59 AM

Yeah, that was so stupid of Tom. They could have gotten Amber out and at least had a chance at the final two. I have never watched a season before this, but I know that Rob will not win. No one in the jury wants him to have the money. I think that if Rupert is in the final two against anyone, he will win. But I know Rob won't, and I don't think Jenna will, either.

Now, are the castoffs watching all the episodes so that they knew what went on behind their backs? That would really seal a winner for Sunday.

It will be interesting, I will say that.

I just don't want Rob to win because he is an ass.

happyraul 05-07-2004 12:01 PM

Yeah I want to know if Lex knows Shii Ann sold him out. I don't think Rob is an ass.

kutulu 05-07-2004 12:51 PM

I must have missed how Shii Ann sold out Rob. Could you explain?

kutulu 05-07-2004 01:02 PM

Here's something I had forgotten about Rob:

In 2000, he woke up the day of the Boston Marathon and decided to run it as an unofficial entry with absolutely no training. He stopped along the way to eat burgers and drink beer. He ended up walking the last 13 miles of the race and finished in 6 hours and 20 minutes. He couldn't walk for three days afterwards.
That is such a funny story.

happyraul 05-07-2004 01:38 PM

I said Shii Ann sold out Lex, not Rob. She voted for him when he got voted out.

My bad, I mistyped. I meant Lex not Rob. Anyways I doubt he'd be surprised since everyone has always known that you can't trust Shii Ann.

I gained a lot of respect for Rob when he told Lex that he was going to vote him out. It's very rare that people tell the person that they are going to screw them over before it happens.
