BANDS REUNITED
Anyone seen that yet? I watched it for the first time last night, not expeting to get into it. It was about DramaRama ("Anything, Anything") and the show crew flies around, contacting all the members and asking them if they would be interested/willing to have a one-day reunion and a one-time performance. DramaRama fell apart, ended on bad terms, and never spoke to each other for over 20 years- but they got together and performed and they got along great. They ALL commented on how wonderful and natural it felt to play again, like they never missed a day. But a day later they got offered to play a big gig, but one member refused, and that was that.
But the nice part was how they all chose to let bygones be bygones, put the past behind, and had fun jamming together again. That was really cool. |

I just watched The Alarm....
sucks that the lead singer announced he was leaving the band in the middle of a show. that was pretty fucked up.

Kaos...
That's what I thought at first too but now after watching a couple of episodes it's actually quite good for both the bands and the fans. Several of the bands so far have said they've often thought about a reunion of some sort but past animosities or fears of being thought of as just trying to make a quick buck have prevented them from doing so. None of the bands get paid for appearing (except for airfair and lodging as nessassary) so that eliminates 'their just doing it for the money' and it's only for a one off show then back to their now regular lives. It provides the members of each band the opprotunity to put aside the differences that split them apart and just do what they came together to do in the first place, play music. For the fan it's an opprotunity to see their favorite bands together play together one last time. |

I've watched all of them so far. They've been really good. Klymaxx(SP?) was like the best one since there are legal issues revolving. But The Alarm was good, and Frankie goes to Hollywood was really good, too bad they didn't play.

Maybe if they have a band that I want to see reunited [or even one that I knew broke up] I'd watch...so far though I can't say that I miss any of those bands!

I get to see all the monies that the shows spend and I haven't seen a single check go out to any of the bands or members.

Saw the unhesitated reunion of Flock of Seagulls and it kicked ass. Sounded a lot better back in the day, but they were all willing and ready to meet up and play.
One of the band memebers who owned a B&B in BFE France moved back to England to persue his music interests. Pretty cool, I must say. Notice the ever-popular and repeated phrase "felt like we never left."/"felt like we just did this last week."? |

I've seen them all so far. I particularly enjoyed the ones with Berlin and A Flock of Seagulls, since I liked listening to their music long ago. I was not very familiar with most of the other bands (The Alarm, Klymaxx, etc.), but enjoyed watching their shows.
