Pi - The Movie Question
Who has seen the movie Pi (Darren Aronofsky's movie)? Can someone please remind me how many letters there are in the God's name? It's like 216 or something around there? Does anyone have the specific number? Much appreciated and thanks.

That's right, 216.

You can probably rip the number off of a screencap from the film if you watch it on your computer... because the number IS displayed.

Actually it was 216 numbers relating to the Hebrew alphabet. 6x6x6=216.
However, when Max is with the jews near the end, on the DVD it's chapter 31 I think, the head preist says the name of god is "216 characters" long. In fact the name is 216 numbers long, each jewish charater can take more than one number each, some take 4 even, making the statement the name of god is "216 characters" long incorrect, if on average the jewish characters took 2 numbers each the actual name would only be 108 characters long. I read this somewhere and it made sense. This is the number Ueclid spits out in the movie: 94143243431512659321054872390486828512913474876027 67195923460238582958304725016523252592969257276553 64363462727184012012643147546329450127847264841075 62234789626728592858295347502772262646456217613984 829519475412398501 |
