What do you think of Arrested Development?
What do you guys think of arrested development? I watched one episode of it and barely laughed once. It seems that half the people that mention it either think it was terrible or they love it and think it is the greatest show they've seen in a while. What do you guys think?

I think it's a great show.
I just have one very small complaint: If you had asked me a year ago who I thought the most beautiful woman in the world was, I might just have answered, "Patricia Valesquez". However, this year I think I might change that answer to "whoever originally played Marta, before her" I'm never satisfied.

I think it's interesting, but only in comparison to everything else on. As a show on it's own, I think it leaves a lot to be desired. For example, why have all that voice over stuff? Do the writers think their being way to clever for the common folk to figure out what's going on? I'd say not, since the "too clever" seems to be little more than a remixing along the lines of a friends or sienfeld episode.
The only redeeming factor is they have that guy who was on Mr. Show (can't remember the name)...he's a funny guy, but far too underexposed on this show.

I just saw most of yesterdays episode for the first time.
It was interesting and funny in spots. I think its worth checking it out again. It was a little difficult watching it for the first time yesterday because quite honestly I wasnt sure of the background and whatnot.

I think that it's funny, but I don't schedule my life around it or any thing like that.
It does make me feel like the writers are sitting around saying "look how clever and witty and off the wall we can be." But I still find it entertaining. The voice over bit, I think, is to give a bit of a documentary or "fly on the wall" aspect to the show. And yeah, Andy Richter was great. |

Arrested Development is just so amazing in so many ways. The characters are all really interesting, and the actors who portray them are just astounding (I especially enjoy David Cross as the obliviously gay, never-nude brother-in-law). The writing is fresh and smart and completely devoid of tired sitcom cliches. The show doesn't need a laugh track to tell you what's funny, and it doesn't have to teach you a lesson at the end of every episode.
And of course the most important thing of all, is that the show is freakin' hilarious. During most episodes I can hardly stay in my seat. My gf loves it so much she watches the episodes over and over (that's a little excessive for me, although the show does have good repeat value - you might miss some of the more subtle jokes the first time through). |

Henry Wrinkler. Need I say more? He's not my favorite character, but he is hilarious!
Hows this Quote: "You aren't one of those men that's dressed up like a women are you?" Hooker "No..." and he drives away! LMFAO. Fucking hilarious! Kris.
