I couldn't respond in a positive manner or figure out how to use my back button so I was edited.

flipped by it at random and saw clay perform. he definitely has a voice and seems to have some respect, motivation, and emotion invested in his performances. i watch it every once in a while to see if clay and/or rueben can break the steroetypical mold of pop singers.

I may be "retarted", but I enjoy the show. Clay has an incredible voice, but he reminds me of the lead in every musical I've ever seen. In my opinion, he doesn't have the voice of a pop singer, instead he should be in a community theatre production of "Oklahoma".
However, after Ruben visiting the bottom 2 last night, Clay just might be the favorite.

I HAD actually started a poll and string for American Idol, but that was before the TFP purge.... Anyways... What the hell happened last night??? Rueben in the bottom 2??? WTF?? Before the TFP purge, Rueben was ahead on the poll by leaps and bounds, and Clay as a distant second. Did all the Rueben fans forget to vote?? Was his performance really THAT bad?? Anyways...I think that Joshua Gracin needed to be down there...not Rueben. I DO however agree with who got let go. Trenyce is definitely the weakest out of the people that were left over.

I'm clearly retarded, and I love the show.
I'm pulling for Ruben, and I've always been afraid that his fans will think he has it locked up and blow off the vote.

I think last night was a wake-up call for Ruben and his fans. I think next week will be a bit more logical. Probably Josh and Kim in the bottom 2, but since there aren't many contestants left, anything could happen. Bring back Frenchie!

Thanks, SexyCat.
Also, yeah Ruben is great. Clay DOES sound like a broadway star but I think he has the potential to be more of a pop star. I mean, look at his first audition tape. Red hair, freckles and glasses. He's come a long way. I think he can go even farther. |

I want Ruben to win it! Clay can sing, but his weird facial expressions are too funny to watch.
Josh Gracin SUCKS and people seem to keep him around because he's a marine and everybody is all into patriotism these days. I love it that Simon Cowell said "remember this is a singing competition!" I hope Josh gets the boot next, because he is a terrible singer.

I never saw a minute of the first season, but I am retarted enough to be watching this season. I am sorry to say I missed the last two weeks because of work. Once the cute blondes are gone, I guess I have to pay attention to the singing.

Personally, I think simon is hilarious. If it were me, I'd be saying some of the exact same stuff. But then again, only a dick would find another dick funny. So I guess that explains that.

If anyone remembers from last season, one of the favorites (I believe her name was Tamyra Gray) was eliminated much earlier than expected, while someone with lesser talent survived.
I thought Ruben was going to fall victim to the same upset, but I think his scare will really set up the voting this weekend. Josh will likely finally get booted. He represented himself and the Marine Corps very well, but he is a bit more limited than the others. Kimberly will go next....then it's Ruben vs. Clay in a cage match. Hardcore, lumberjack rules.

Ambition:
I feel the direct opposite! I want Clay to win but Ruben seems to be the big teddy bear that everyone loves. (On a side note, why didn't Simon tell Ruben to lose weight but he had no problem telling many other girls much smaller than Ruben that THEY had to?) Anyway, Ruben LOOKS like a pop star whereas Clay doesn't really. I am hoping Clay will make it, however. *sigh* P.S. Ruben is a great singer, there's just something about Clay I like more. |

I've watched every episode for both seasons, and I have a particular interest because I spent some years in the recording industry as a studio musician. The things that Simon tells people are exactly what they would hear every day in the business. No different.

Ruben was back in Birmingham on Friday, and the local stations and papers reported that he had an entourage of five police officers for protection (even though he's 6'3" and 360 lbs.) and a lady carrying a tray of ribs!!!

Clay or Ruben?
you all know you watch...
my vote is for Clay. i would much rather hang out with Ruben anyday, he's a cool guy and he sings very well, but good God clay sings with some of the best performers i have ever heard. i think he goes beyond britney/justin/kelly clarkson quality. he is amazing, especially coming out of no-where, think of where he could be with training. that last performance of Bridge Over Troubled Water gave me chills, and it takes a lot for another man to give me chills... so 1) who would/did you vote for and 2) who do you think will win? (because they don't always match up)

Ruben
I have slowly grown to hate Clay more and more each day, maybe its because I live in Raleigh and am saturated with this crap everyday even though I don't even watch the damn show! I saw a 4runner the other day with "Vote 4 Clay" written in its windows and I had thoughts about running it off the road. I just can't like the guy. EDIT: To answer the part of the initial post: I didn't vote and I hope Ruben wins but unfortunately I think Clay will win.

According to amazon.com Clay's soon to be released single is at #1 in sales and Ruben's is at #26. A foreshadowing into the future? Let's hope so.

Since you guys seem to watch the show could someone tell me why everyone boo's Ruben off the stage once he's finished performing a song?
I've watched the show a few times and can't see any connection. Oh and that Clay dude freaks me out with the facials, looks like the kinda kid that sailors would love to have in the shower using powdered soap. |
