"The Simpsons" Trivia

I'm starting this thread to test our trivia about the greatest TV show ever, The Simpsons.

The way it works is this:

- One active question at a time.
- The person who correctly answers the question gets to ask the next question
- Questions should only be about characters and episodes, not the actors playing the parts, Matt Groening, or any of Groening's other projects (Futurama, Life in Hell, etc.)

The Music Trivia thread in the Music forum works this way. Check it out if you have any questions.

Question #1:

In the "Night Terrors" episode, we find out what may have caused Waylon Smithers to live his "alternative lifestyle." What was it?

Dilbert1234567 12-17-2003 12:47 AM

um i cant seem to find that episode. anywear.

do you have the accual name of teh episode or the season at least?

guthmund 12-17-2003 02:39 AM

The only reference I can find to why Smithers might be homosexual is in the episode "The Blunder Years"

When Mr. Burns tells a very young Smithers that his father was killed by wild amazonian women instead of the real reason (exposure to heavy radiation.) They then crack a joke about "the lasting effect" it could've had on Smithers.

That's it. That's all I got.

Soda_BoB 12-17-2003 05:45 AM

I can't recall any of those episodes mentioned so far, and that is wierd....

Derwood 12-17-2003 08:24 AM

guthmund is correct. Sorry, I have no idea what any of the actual show titles are.

Anyways, guthmund gets to ask the next question.

guthmund 12-17-2003 03:00 PM

Alrighty....

This one should be pretty easy, but I can't resist.

In the episode "Lisa the Greek" while picking football teams for her father to bet on why does Lisa like the Raiders?

kiwiman 12-17-2003 03:22 PM

Well, I like the 49ers because they're pure of heart, Seattle because they've got something to prove, and the Raiders because they always cheat.

PLEASE don't use websites to find the answers. This is a pretty lame thread if people are cheating to answer the questions.

MexicanOnABike 12-17-2003 06:56 PM

anyways, i get to ask the next question:
What's Moe's phone number?

Derwood 12-17-2003 07:17 PM

good one. I have no idea without looking it up.

555-????

MexicanOnABike 12-17-2003 07:20 PM

in the episode when smithers leaves Mr.burn alone with Homer. Mr.burn tries to call Smithers by typing his name in the phone S-M-I-T-H-E-R-S ( 764-8437 ) and Moe picks up. someone try an easier question...

good one.:D

who all was in the springfield chapter of mensa?

RedCometChar 12-17-2003 11:05 PM

Dr. Hibbert, Principal Skinner, Comic Book Guy, Professor Frink, that network broad from Krustylu (I think she's had at least two names, and I remember neither), and Lisa. Steven Hawking made an appearance, too. :D

Potentially a tough one... in the episode where the Springfield kids played Pee-Wee football, what were Rod & Todd's jersey numbers?

Derwood 12-18-2003 07:55 AM

damn. We're coming up with hard ones.

Batman976 12-18-2003 08:20 AM

One was 6 and the other was 66.

Name three of Krusty's sidekicks.

fhqwhgads 12-18-2003 10:49 AM

Sideshow Bob, Sideshow Mel, and Sideshow Luke Perry?? (does he count??)

If so:

Name the two of the three towns where the monorail had already been sold.

glytch 12-18-2003 10:50 AM

Sideshow Bob, Sideshow Mel, and Mr. Teeny. (The chain-smoking monkey...who also drives.)

What were the names of the Duff Garden Mascots?

Edit: Oops, fhqwhgads beat me to it....the answer to his question is Ogdenville, North Havenbrook, and (not sure about this one) Brockway.

fhqwhgads 12-18-2003 10:56 AM

Ack...there's seven of 'em, right?

Tipsy, Surly, Remorsefull...... need some help on this one

Batman976 12-18-2003 03:27 PM

For the record, I was thinking of Sideshow Luke Perry.

I already knew the answer, i just wanted my answer to be more thorough (sp).

I wanted to put that up there as an interesting site, i didn't know if anyone had come across it.

Derwood 12-19-2003 07:28 AM

Ithink the Duffland dwarves question is officially a stumper. Go ahead and give us another question

Bloodslick 12-19-2003 08:57 AM

If only my girlfriend had bought me the shirt with the Seven Duffs on it, I'd have this question licked.

glytch 12-19-2003 09:09 AM

Someone else choose another question, I don't want to hold up the game. I'll let the seven Duffs question stick for a day or two then give the answer if nobody has gotten it.

EDIT: I'll give a hint. It was a trick question, there were only four mentioned. Anyone able to answer it now?

fhqwhgads 12-19-2003 09:19 AM

I know I have three of 'em right, but I couldn't remember the fourth one. I ended up looking it up, but I won't spoil everyone else's fun by posting the answer. Good question glytch...

Derwood 12-19-2003 09:28 AM

i say just tell us the answer and ask a new question

RedCometChar 12-19-2003 12:22 PM

I used to know all seven- in the Hit & Run game, there's a sign on Moe's wall that has all their names. Again, that's the sort of thing that I'd have to look up.

A gimme, just to keep things active- How many times has Bender appeared on the Simpsons? Describe the scenes he appeared in.

(think this still falls within the rules)

I think the other one was Queasy... is that right? Maybe I just made it up. It's been bothing me since this post though.

//Edit: I just found them all after posting this. Since we've moved on, their names are Edgy, Remorseful, Dizzy, Tipsy, Surly, Queasy, and Sleazy.

Yeah, falls within the rules. You mean cameo(s) by Bender from Futurama?

rockzilla 12-19-2003 06:05 PM

The only Bender cameo I remember was in the episode where Bart gets pushed back to 3rd grade while Lisa gets skipped to the 3rd grade. Bart is hallucinating various TV characters during a test, and Bender is among them. So, if the answer is one, let me know and I'll ask a question.

RedCometChar 12-19-2003 10:33 PM

Close enough. :) He also appeared at the end of the episode where Homer turned missionary to avoid the wrath of PBS. He was answering phones on the Fox pledge drive along with Hank Hill, that dude from the PJs, and some others. Ask away, Rocky!

Batman976 12-20-2003 01:47 AM

I also know of at least one cameo by Fry. In the intro to one of the episodes, at the couch scene, came to the couch through tubes, and Fry landed on the couch, then shot back up before (I think) Maggie shot back out.

Derwood 12-20-2003 08:35 AM

Rockzilla, hit us with a question

rockzilla 12-20-2003 06:16 PM

Okay, What was Homer's slogan when he ran for Sanitation Commissioner?

Soda_BoB 12-20-2003 09:01 PM

Let someone else do it? Not quite sure

Monre 12-20-2003 09:18 PM

can't some(one) else do it?
(body)

What is apu's full name.

Soda_BoB 12-21-2003 06:02 AM

Apu Nahasapeemapetalon

How old is Hans Moleman?

Monre 12-21-2003 06:26 PM

80

If thats right then

----what was the name of Homer's barber quartez.

glytch 12-21-2003 08:00 PM

Isn't Hans Moleman only 31? I can't seem to remember what episode that was in, but I remember hearing it somewhere. Also, Homer's barbershop quartet is the "Be Sharps".

--What is Principal Seymour Skinner's real name?
