Final Fantasy Unlimited
Anyone else purchase the fisrt DVD in the box set? i got it a few days ago and watched the first 4 episodes, its pretty good but other than the music and a few characters im having trouble getting a Final Fantasy vibe from it. The animation is great, of course im not much of an anime viewer so i cant compare much. What do you guys think of this first installment of the final fantasy unlimited series?

The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose vis-à-vis an introduction, and so it is my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V." - V |

It's a terrible series IMO.
It has none of the marks that show up on a true final fantasy work. No good music, no interesting characters, and the episodes follow the exact same boring format everytime. The CG is repetitive and recycled each episode. If you want to be bored to tears then this series is for you.

Saw it a few years ago.. VEry cute series, but not terribly in depth. It takes place in the same universe that FF takes place in, but has nothing to do with any of the games per se.
Here is a review for it at animefringe: http://www.animefringe.com/magazine/...e/2/index.php3 It's cute, and good for all ages, but if you dont like cute stuff and think "NGE is the best anime evar!" then you proally wont like this one........... Still.. it's cute.. |

it's aimed at a younger market. of course it's juvenile, because it's for juveniiles!
Naruto is Shounen anime.. not as bad as DB(Z) (though that is 20 years old now) but it's still shounen anime. FFU is more along the lines of Digimon in pacing, plot, complexity, and even art direction. This could be a good, or a bad thing. |

I looked at it, but had my doubts at the time... I picked up the Y's DVD's instead, but I think I'll get FFU, too.
