Best/Favorite Trilogy you've seen

there are so many i like.... and with the Martrix Trilogy just finishing, and Terminator, and Lord of the Rings coming up, i just wanna see what you guys think is the your favorite or best

Mine?

Just cause its more recent I will have to say the Matrix.... awsome story...

Monre 11-09-2003 03:46 PM

Likely gonna be LOTR.but i dont know till dec 17th

CSflim 11-09-2003 03:55 PM

Hmmm...I think we had better make a list first. There are of course the three you mentioned, also The Godfather trlogy and...um...Back To The Future?

mattevil 11-09-2003 04:10 PM

probably my favorite is the man with no name trilogy(fistful dollars;few dollars more;Good, the bad,and the ugly) the movies actually got better with each sequal.

these are pretty good though
-indiana jones
-evil dead trilogy(evil dead 2 was the best IMO).the first one was even filmed in the town where i was born.
-back to the future

yellowgowild 11-09-2003 04:23 PM

Starwars, before Lucas started smoking crack.

Lasereth 11-09-2003 05:57 PM

The Matrix Trilogy easily.

-Lasereth

Dr.Who 11-09-2003 06:06 PM

Original Star Wars, LOTR is close by even if the last one is not out yet, just can't beat the Star Wars.

empu 11-09-2003 06:14 PM

Whatever my answer might be today, it's sure to change when Legally Blonde 3 comes out.

lordjeebus 11-09-2003 06:22 PM

Kieslowski's Trois Ccouleurs

or the Rambo trilogy

SAM821 11-09-2003 06:29 PM

I got another one I've always loved... Indiana Jones Trilogy

Its a classic, I can watch them hundreds of times

Spinach_Indeed 11-09-2003 06:51 PM

I always liked the Back to the Future trilogy. They flowed together nicely and I was content with the ending.

quest1mark 11-09-2003 08:29 PM

would el mariachi / deperado / once upon a time in mexico count as a trilogy?

i know el mariachi didnt have antonio or salma, but its pretty much the prequel to desperado and it was by the same director

RippedSock1 11-09-2003 08:43 PM

I'd have to go with The Matrix Trilogy. Although, I have to check out El Mariachi. The last two in the series alone could make that one of my favorite 'trilogies'.

Mr.Deflok 11-09-2003 09:08 PM

Original Star Wars Trilogy
The Terminator Trilogy
Indiana Jones Trilogy
Alien Trilogy (part 4 never happened, NEVER!)
and of course LOTR will be on the list too and I'm not sure whereabouts The Matrix trilogy fits on my list, I loved it but can't quite place it...

scoobydugan 11-09-2003 09:30 PM

How could u guys forget about the DIE HARD Trilogy????

mercury-hg 11-09-2003 09:39 PM

Back to the Future, without a doubt

LOTR will definitely be up there

The Matrix trilogy started with so much potential -- potential ruined by the following movies, though

rogue49 11-09-2003 09:46 PM

The original Star Wars trilogy.

Although LOTR is close to becoming a close second.

Matrix "could have" done it...but they fucked up the conclusion...it's not one really.
Same with the "Godfather" saga.

anti fishstick 11-10-2003 12:02 AM

first back to the future.

THEN matrix.

and probably lotr.

Moskie 11-10-2003 12:52 AM

Hm, tough one. Hate to be unoriginal, but I keep coming back to the original Star Wars trilogy.

And when is X-Men 3 coming out? :)

spived2 11-10-2003 01:03 AM

Im sure as soon as Lord of the rings is finished it will be the best of all time. So far, so good.

Which town was evil dead filmed in?

bundy 11-10-2003 04:40 AM

lord of the rings.
no contest in my opinion. and the last one isnīt even out yet.

i know there are other great trilogies out there, like the original star wars and the godfather... but for me its got to be LOTR.

morristown,tn mostly a little was done around detrioit when they were finishing up.

jvwgtr 11-10-2003 06:39 AM

Gotta agree with lordjeebus:
No question, the best is Kieslowski's Three Colors.

Cynthetiq 11-10-2003 07:04 AM

Surf II: The End of the Trilogy (1984)

What is a trilogy? What a trilogy is since it's not just a threesome of a movie, is Indiana Jones truly a trilogy because it has three movies in it?

Stare At The Sun 11-10-2003 07:21 AM

Indy jones...

im2smrt4u 11-10-2003 07:24 AM

In order:

1. Star Wars
2. Indiana Jones
3. Back to the Future
4. The Jersey Trilogy (Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy)

Haven't seen the third part of The Matrix or LoTRs yet, so I can't rank them yet. ;)

Gortexfogg 11-10-2003 08:27 AM

The Man With No Name Trilogy
And Star Wars, Indiana Jones, ect...

Evil Milkman 11-10-2003 11:37 AM

Matrix and Star Wars.

DownwardSpiral 11-10-2003 02:45 PM

The Matrix trilogy, with LotR trilogy as a close second. Star Wars is good, but just can't cut it.

BigGov 11-10-2003 03:08 PM

The Godfather. Hands down.

Everything else can only try to be second best.

SAM821 11-10-2003 03:16 PM

For a Comedy... American Pie Trilogy.... I was impressed with the last one... it was great

Also, you cant forget Austin Powers... they were all good

Its very hard to make a good comedy trilogy... those two are great!

Speed_Gibson 11-10-2003 05:41 PM

never have seen either of the two sequels to LOTR or Matrix and have zero desire so have to go with:
Back to the Future
Star Wars 1-3 (can easily forget those latest two even exist and the next prequel ranks up there with the Marix/LOTR sequels in the "wait until bargain bin DVD rental and maybe not even then" category.
The Thin Man Series

Tophat665 11-10-2003 05:59 PM

Hmm.

Lord of the Rings will certainly be number 1.
The first three Pink Panther Movies
Star Wars 4-6
The Man With No Name (Samurai Movies rock, even when done with cowboys as interpreted by Italians)
The Matrix certainly deserves mention.
Finally, the Godfather.

Other than that, some of the rest are worth watching, but none of them really rate.

Can't believe no one has even mentioned the Mad Max series, though.

Mr. Spacemonkey 11-10-2003 06:04 PM

Probably the Matrix trilogy and LOTR. Of course i haven't seen Return of the King yet but i know it'll kick ass.

trench 11-10-2003 09:20 PM

I don't know about trilogies but if you're talking quintologies than it's the Trancer series.

Jack Deth rules.

dragon2fire 11-11-2003 09:16 AM

lotr is the best and will always be the best

Plan9Senior 11-11-2003 12:40 PM

Romero's Dead series:

Night of the Living Dead
Dawn of the Dead
Day of the Dead

Prophecy 11-11-2003 02:37 PM

Lord of the Ring so far tops my list. I'll hold final judgment till I see the last one. The Godfather would top my list but the third movie was no where near the caliber of the first two. The Scream movies are on my list for horror.

Also I have to mention The Man With No Name Trilogy for good measure it's on my list but I don't know where to place it. You know the Clint Eastwood movies:
A Fistful Of Dollars
For A Few Dollars More
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

Fremen 11-11-2003 02:45 PM

The Candyman Trilogy.

Candyman
Candyman: Day of the Dead
Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh

Not a great trilogy, but it hasn't been mentioned before at least. ;)
