The OC Returns

Well, I know we had a thread on this before, but I couldn't seem to find it. I just wanted to know if any of you who were watching then are still watching now. I'm still a sucker for it. Every episode just keeps me wanting more.

I'm glad to see Anna back on the show. I think she'd be really good for Seth, but I still can't help but root for him and Summer. I mean, after all those years he was chasing her, they finally had a connection, then they throw in the other girl who is prefect for him.

The Ryan and Marissa thing isn't quite as interesting as it used to be, but I'm sure they'll hit more speed bumps along the way. Things are bound to get even more tense between Sandy and Kirsten too, not to mention Sandy and Kirsten's father.

I'm thinkin' it's going to make for some good TV. Wednesday is by far my favorite night for TV right now. That 70's Show, The OC, and South Park... it's all good.

My girlfriend watches the OC, and as a result, I also watch the OC.

I think the show has potential, but I have two problems with it.

1. The characters don't really grab me.
2. I feel like the show is moving really slowly, like the writers aren't sure where they want to take things.

I'm not following it as closely as other people, given that I watch it mainly for the company, but that's what I think.

They need to move on to other storylines. The whole girlfriend/ex-boyfirend/new boyfriend thing is getting old. The husband/father-in-law battle may soon get old as well. I've liked all the episodes so far, but I think there's big potential for let down. I mean there's already been an OD, a burned down house, a shooting, a divorce, infidelity, what else can they throw in for the upcoming episodes? I hope the writers are creative.

I just started watching it really--watched the first couple this summer then got busy. So far so good. I agree that things need to keep moving or else it'll get old fast.

I am hopelessly addicted to the OC. Other than 24, its the best show Fox has (Silence Simpsons fans!)

I like to watch this show not only because it's good TV, but because of how they portray the areas here in Southern California, where I was born, raised, and still live. The way they depict the various cities is really over the top and I find it laughable, but necessary. I can tell you that Chino is by no means the ghetto and Newport Beach is not as glamourous as they make it out to be. That's what they have to do for an interesting show, and I'm totally cool with it.

Did you know that the city of Riverside, where Marissa's mom (forgot her name) is from, contemplated suing FOX for slandering the city in the show? I forgot the exact words, but they make fun of the redneck, backwards, and often derogatory perception of Riverside.

Man oh man, a lot of stuff went down in tonights episode. I really didn't want it to end (of course I never do). I'm dying to know what Seth decides to do in the future regarding his women. I can't believe turned away from Anna when she went to kiss him. Then again... I can't believe Sandy didn't kiss his partner either (what's her name again?)

Summer finally admitting that she had a thing for Seth was pretty exciting. The future of that whole situation is keeping me coming back more than anything right now. I am hopelessly addicted to this show.

Yea, i can't believe he turned away from Anna too, i was like calling him a tool when i was watching it. And Sandy's partner was pretty hot but the writers obviously want to keep him faithful. If you saw the scenes from the next episode apparently shes getting set up w/ Jimmy. As for Seth's future, hes obviously going to go out with summer, find out shes nothing like he dreamed, come back to Anna eventually and coax her back into liking him.

Yeah, your theories about Seth's love triangle are pretty much the same as mine. That's exactly what I said to my roommate tonight. I still enjoy watching Seth and Summer interacting though. I don't think they would be all that bad for each other.

Ryan isn't adding much to the show anymore. He's completely different from how he was at the beginning. All of a sudden he lost his badboy attitude. The only one he steps up to is Julie. Bah!

Not sure exactly where in SoCal you are from, but you might be thinking of Chino Hills because the city of Chino is a straight up dump . Newport not as glamorous as it is made out to be on the show? Some of the most expensive real estate in California is in Newport silly (and I won't even go into the amount of gorgeous women that live there)

Finally I caught the repeat tonight (thank God for the repeats). It was pretty good, although the whole thing with Seth trying to hide the two girls from each other was a little cliché. I do feel kinda bad for his character, though. I'm still having a hard time trying to decide which girl is better for him.

I'm pretty surprised Marissa took the whole thing with Ryan's ex so well. I wonder if that will come up again later in the season.

I also feel they are rushing this [as they do with many ] storylines...they could have had him juggling the girls for a couple of weeks rather than one episode...they seem to write this show as if every week is the last week of the series...

Yeah, I get what you mean. It probably would have worked a bit better if they let it go on for a few weeks. Of course you never know with Fox. There's always the potential for that week to be the last week. They didn't show A Minute With Stan Hooper this week. Of course that show sucked anyway.

ShadowWraith, I don't know how old the other actors are, but I know the girl who plays Marissa is still 17, so they weren't too far off age wise.

have I mentioned how I aspire to be Seth Cohen: Summer and Anna are hawt.

I really liked last weeks episode except for the chino stuff. The filter they put on the camera was getting on my nerves big time.

I agree that seth's two timing should have been played out a lot longer, but it was fun to watch regardless

Yeah, I have to admit I like watching this show, also. My Wife and I record it and watch it when we have time.

As for this week, I am rooting for Anna. I know that she will probably be written off of the show in a few weeks, but I like her better. Fuck Summer. She only wants him because she can't have him.

As far as the rest of it, I agree that Ryan has gotten a little boring (he is from Austin, did ya know that? ). I am glad that the dad didn't hook up with his partner (yet) and I wish Marissa's mom would go away. She is a gold digger.

I don't really like the direction the show is taking. Now Luke and Ryan are friends, Seth is back in the good graces of both ladies, Ryan and Marissa didn't actually break up and the bitch queen Julie has a place to live and Jimmy wont go to jail. Wheres the conflict?!

I'm not sure what you're talking about... did you happen to get a sneak peek at this coming episode? How did you pull that off? Were Ryan and Marissa supposed to break up? They seem to be getting along okay to me.

I got hooked after I caught the 3rd episode (maybe it was the fourth or fifth? I don't know...but it's the one where that house burns down) and for some reason I can't stop watching...I can understand now why the last generation of kids were so into Beverly Hills.

The conflict is watching Luke try and deal with being the outcast, Julie Cooper trying to change her personality, and Seth's obligation to pick between the two hotties

I really like the show but I hate how FOX advertises it like "Be there to witness the first kiss" "Can their marriage survive?" "Seth finally makes his choice." Maybe it's just me; I hate FOX.
