Favorite Movie Monster

Who or what is your favorite movie monster?

Mine is the wolfman, mostly because of my mood swings around the full moon. That and I've always felt I'm a lone wolf.

more fire 10-31-2003 08:29 AM

king kong!

Hash_Browns 10-31-2003 08:32 AM

hrm! That's a good ? R.O.U.S.' are pretty gross (if you know what I'm talking about) Then there's Darkness from the movie Legend whom I think is awsome! And of course there's Freddy and Jason and all those creepy guys!! But my favorite 'monster' is probibly Eric Draven/The Crow...who said monsters were all bad!! ;)

Happy Halloween Dano! We seem to be posting at the same time in a few threads!! hehe

(was a typo...I type to fast...thanks One ;) )

Stare At The Sun 10-31-2003 08:38 AM

^^ It's Eric Draven, (not sure if that was a typo or not)

However, the predator is my favorite

Happy Halloween back at ya! Guess we're on the same wavelength today! :D I forgot about the Crow. Loved the first movie.

Ripsaw 10-31-2003 09:03 AM

I'll go with Godzilla. Always a favorite.
Who else is nuclear powered and has taken out Tokyo
and New York?

Aliens and other Giger inspired art. A good monster should have big teeth, claws, excess saliva, feet with talons, and the ability to lunge at its victims.

Totally. bad. ass.

I'm gonna have to go for the Wicked Witch of the West.

Does she count?

quadro2000 10-31-2003 12:33 PM

Marlon Brando in The Island of Dr. Moreau.

CSflim 10-31-2003 02:11 PM

I'll have to go with Alien.

spived2 10-31-2003 02:20 PM

ALF Scares the hell out of me!

marcopolo 10-31-2003 02:44 PM

' Creature from the Black Lagoon ' was one of the B-movie monsters that scared the bejesus out of many a kid in the 50/60's .
After all ... hell hath no fury like a slimy-thing scorned ! RUN DAMN IT !

Reese 10-31-2003 03:18 PM

Zombies! Any of them, Romero, O'bannon, Boyle, Capcom, I don't care!

Oh, and every bad guy in Lord of the Rings.

I'm with you, marco. Creature has always been a favorite in our house.

anti fishstick 10-31-2003 08:27 PM

the staypuft marshmellow!!!

QuasiMojo 10-31-2003 08:50 PM

Man, I'm thinkin' that Great White by the name of Bruce.

I saw "Jaws" in the theeee-ater and it scarred me for life

MichaelFarker 11-01-2003 12:01 AM

Jack Nicholson as Jack Torrence in The Shining messed me up for life. I saw it when I was but a wee lad. In retrospect, Jack did some amazing acting in that film. Torrence seemed so normal and likeable even when he was acting crazier than Smeagal. "Heeeere's Johnny!"

As far as mythological monsters go, I liked David Bowie as Jareth the Goblin King in Labyrinth. He was as cool as Zaphod and as clever as Bilbo. Moreover, he was a complex character surrounded by intentionally flat ones. Even the heroine, Sara (played by Jennifer Connely) usually seemed like a puppet. Jareth was hard and hedonistic, yet at the same time quietly kind. He tricked, trapped, harassed and wooed an unusually innocent 15 year old girl. On the other hand, he opened her eyes to a larger world, helped her grow up, introduced her to some wonderful people, and sent her home unharmed - untouched, even. In retrospect, Jareth was indeed a king among goblins. As a bit of trivia, Labyrinth was released in 1986; Jennifer Connely was born on December 12, 1970; David Bowie was born on January 8, 1947. (Dates appear courtesy of IMDB)

Baldrick 11-01-2003 05:07 AM

Dracula is, without a doubt, my favorite "monster". Intelligent, worldly, powerful, and able to woo women with a glance. What's not to love?!?

Although Willem Dafoe's performance of Max Schreck in Shadow of a Vampire was probably the most fun to watch.

Nefir 11-01-2003 06:32 AM

The Predator (from the first movie). That is one badass motha. Travelling the galaxy and collecting skullss of the weak. Aah now that is life. Too bad the future governor of California got the better of him... I was rooting for old ugly from the start :D

bundy 11-02-2003 04:16 PM

iŽd have to say Gollum.
just so trixy.

santafe5000 11-02-2003 04:29 PM

I'll go with Godzilla. That was probably the first monster movie I saw in a theater.

phukraut 11-02-2003 04:43 PM

i love alien, and the sandworms in dune.. and that big ugly thing luke skywalker kills in the jabba's dungeon.

Speed_Gibson 11-04-2003 09:27 PM

review of the movie

psicon 11-04-2003 10:37 PM

I'd say Godzilla or Bruce the Great White Shark.

Mr.Deflok 11-04-2003 11:04 PM

I loved this bad boy when I was little (was scared of him too!)

wannabenakid247 11-05-2003 04:28 AM

I will go with the Alien as well but the predator is cool too.

Moobie 11-05-2003 08:33 AM

Alien all the way. By far the most frightening non-human ever to grace celluloid.

supafly 11-05-2003 10:12 AM

I like Predator best.
