Don't get "The Lion King"
 

I just bought "The Lion King" on dvd today, thinking I would get to see the same movie I saw at the theatres but I was shown something completely different.

The voices in some of the songs are different and the nice flow that was there is raped by the addition of badly written musical breaks.

Are they ever going to make a "Normal Edition"?

hmm I was looking for to this... Lion King is one of the best Disney Movies IMO

There is an option to watch the theatrical version (which is basically the same but with one song less). Critics have unanimously agreed that this DVD is superior to what we saw in the theatre due to an enhanced soundtrack for home theatre bliss and digitally restored visuals.

I have yet to buy the DVD but cannot wait, animation rules.

isn't this the same as the enhanced release from earlier in the year?

I don't know specifics, but IGN gave this DVD a 10 out of 10. If I were a huge Disney fan I'd be buying it.

Visually yes, but this version has an extra song, those of you who saw the Theatre Production of The Lion King will be familiar with the new song.

I'm no Disney fan, in fact I pretty much despise them these days (I'm so glad Pixar are 1 film away from breaking out of that contract) but The Lion King remains one of the greatest animated features of all time imo.

I just bought the DVD yesterday but have yet to open it up and see what all the hoopla is about......results to follow in the next few hours if i get the time hopefully

All I had to do was go to setup, film options, and select the original version.

At least you can admit it. ;)

Anyone know what the difference is between the Limited Set at bestbuy and just the new DVD?

Toys R' Us has buy the Liion King DVD and get another Disney DVD for $5.00. If there is not that much in the Limited Set, I'll go to Toys R' Us...

I'm want a huge Disney fan until I played Kingdom Hearts lol, so I like some Disney stuff now, I sure hope they didnt butcher the Lion King.
