Opening music from Ken Burns' NEW YORK documentary
I remember seeing this programme on TV a couple of years back. Being a great fan of Ken Burns' work I tuned in for the first few shows, but I don't think I got the whole series.
Anyway, I have a distinct memory of a jazz number playing during the opening scene, when the camera is zooming over the water (ocean?) towards the NY skyline. It was an amazing piece of music, best described as some kind of jazz number that got faster and faster as the camera approached the shore. In some strange way the music "felt right", so to speak, and conjured up images of New York in the Golden Age. Can anyone help me identify this piece of music? I would be very grateful. Mr Mephisto |
