I was blown away by The Ring -- saw it on DVD recently and I thought it was the best horror movie I'd seen in a long time. Very, very creepy. My wife found it boring though.

"Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas." Nuts. Totally nuts. I was in the right mood to watch it though (you have to be), so it was insanely funny.

Bourne Identity on DVD and Jackass on DVD were the last DVD movies I watched, Jackass was fucked up! the only part that I couldn't take was the paper cuts vignette.

OUCH

It's a 'B' movie, and the acting isn't always up to par, but I thought the plot held its own, and the ending was disturbing.

Just watched an Old Favorite tonight called Walkabout

lemme see.. I watched Far from Heaven. Very different role for Quaid. I thought it was good but not deserving of all the rewards.

Another Heavenly movie called Other side of heaven. A religious movie from Disney(gasp) Its a true story of a Missionary in Tonga in the 1950s. It was a very good movie based on a true story.

The Transporter. I have to say that I was pretty surprised this movie was pretty good. Better than any of Vin Diesel's crap. I don't know why it was compared to him anyways. Ugh

Anger Management - Good movie, a lot of cameos and a lot of twists. Kind of made my head spin.

The Core - Went in expecting crap, actually enjoyed the movie.

Major League - Rented it last week, watched it the other night. Comedy gold.

The Hot Chick - Funniest movie I have seen in a long time. Thus earning the boldface. This movie is funny. My friends refuse to see it based on it having Rob Schneider and it's "lame" plot, but this movie is very funny. Me and my friend laughed aloud to the point of embarassment in the theatre.

The last few I saw were
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (on television) - Thought it was crap to be honest.
Big Trouble In Little China (on DVD) - great film, even if Kurt Russell is in it. :P
Brother (on DVD) - cool film about Yakuza and Mafia.
The Recruit (in the Cinema) - ok til the end, then it just sucked.

Just saw Anger Management.

It was much better than I expected. I may have to re-evaluate my opinion of Adam Sandler.

Highly recommend.

Recently saw City of God. This is one of those movies that changes you. It's a Brazillian flick about life in the ghetto outside of Rio. It's based on a true story. One of the scenes is in the top 20 disturbing things I've scene on film. It's like a Hardcore version of Traffic mixed with Boys in the Hood, as filmed by Guy Ritchie (Snatch). There is a somewhat positive ending.

Also saw Spirited Away. A bit long, and really made me want to smoke dope again.

I agree with the above poster Igby is pretty cool. Much more interesting than "Tadpole"

Bowling for Columbine is a fine film. Moore is the left's answer to Limbaugh. It asks some tough questions, and give some not so satisfying answers, but makes you think.

Loved "Brotherhood of the Wolf" if your into reading some translations. The Ring is good but seemed to be missing something (Ringu had siquals so that's not that supriseing.) Always a Office Space fan. Want to note another good movie, Blazing Saddles.

Cool Japanese action/horror/yakuza movie, check it out if you have a chance. It ran a little long, but was really entertaining.

Last saw "Anger Management" and thought all the cameos were funny but seemed a bit forced. The first three quarters were actually pretty funny, but the last quarter ruined it...

Before that I saw "Agent Cody Banks" with my 8 year old nephew. It was a great movie to watch with an 8 year old and because my hopes weren't very high I really enjoyed it.

8 Mile was pretty good.

Jackass was fucking hillarious!!
The stunt that bothered me the most was the pee pee snow cone. Still makes me shudder.

Saw X-men two last week in the cinema and was pleasantly surprised. I thought 1 was just another lame comic adaptation. Two had it all though, foreshadowing, archtypes, philisophical conundrums, likeable charcaters, action, cinematography, the list goes on. My wife on the other hand saw none of this but enjoyed it anyway...

Good to see people awaiting T3, definately my most anticipated movie off all time (second to the Star Wars prequels actually).

Just watched Phone Booth and though it took a while I just saw Kurosawa's clever Yojimbo. Both outstanding films, especially Yojimbo.

Will be watching Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence and Human Traffic soon.

The Transporter - Made a Divx of it.
Red Dragon - Made a Divx of it.
Igby Goes Down - I liked it. Was what Rushmore should have been. Also reminded me of the Royal Tennenbaums for some reason.
The Italian Job- Saw it in the theater, really liked it.

Identity - I hadn't heard too much about it, but my gf really wanted to see it. Turned out to be a very good movie.

Bruce Almighty - I liked it. Very similar to Liar Liar.

On cable:

Jeepers Creepers, Joy Ride, & 13 Ghosts - Good thrillers. Worth a rental.

Rented Pumpkin with Christina Ricci. Boy did it miss the mark. It was trying to be a cult film on par with Harold and Maude, but failed miserably. Boy is it bad. You can download it on KaZaA if you don't believe me.

just saw Nemo last weekend with my kids. they loved it. my 4 Y.O. daughter had me laughing my ass off. when nemo was captured by the dentist, she turns to my wife and i and says, 'uh no, nemo's gonna be fish sticks.' that was the funniest part of the movie.. for me anyway.

overall though, very good anyway. pixar just cant miss it seems.

also saw Phonebooth a while back. i havent been so entertained by a movie like that in a long time. very good pacing.
