SAVE FAMILY GUY PETITION
Everyone please sign this and try and save the amazing show of family guy!!!
http://www.petitiononline.com/savefg2/petition.html |
save from what.. it's not in production anymore.
|
I can't boycotte Gold Bond... I'm a large fellow and it's mighty hot out!
|
i'll sign, family guy is funny as hell.
|
I think the show's pretty dead. Even if fox wanted it back, which would never happen, the people working on it broke up long ago to work on other things. It would be too hard to bring everyone back together.
|
Yeah, I wish it was still on and would love it if it came back but I just don't see it happening. I think we'll just have to settle for the reruns.
|
family guy is out on DVD guys. go buy season 1 and 2 now. season 3 will be out in a couple of days!!!
|
That's alot of signitures better add one mroe.
|
Online petitions: is there anything they can't do? Aside from produce any sort of result, I mean.
|
Good idea. I'm working on petitions to save "Fish Police" and "The Critic". sk
|
Dude it's not going to work. The creator has gone on to new things. Just give up.
|
family guy will return in some form or another.. the creator said this himself..
|
slow on this one aren't we DJP?!?!?!?!?!?!
|
...as has been said by various others, if you want to support Family Guy, signing an online petetion isn't going to do anything in this day in age. If you want to support the show, buy the DVD. It's the most concrete evidence of viewer loyalty we can produce. The creator said in an interview that there was a possibility of a straight-to-video movie.
|
a movie? I can't even imagine what that might entail. It will probably be funny though... is there anybody who doesn't like it?

Please God no...
I HATE that show. And to think they're canceling Futurama!!! What is wrong with Fox?!!! Mr Mephisto |
Wooo! go family guy

Kadath: Bullseye
Nothing is more impotent than an online petitiion. The big thing with petitions, letter writing campaigns, and the like is that the target of the campaign needs to see how dedicated the organizer and contributor of the campaign are. A sea of written letters with postage attached to each one is good. Tens of thousands of hand collected signatures & addresses is good. A web page written for petitions that requires 3 minutes of work from the organizer, 5 seconds of work from each participant, and if anything offers a gaurantee that a good portion of the signatures are fake or duplicates does not send a strong message. Now if everyone had started writing real letters to FOX, collecting signatures by hand, and writing real letters to all of FOX's advertisers stating they weren't going to be watching FOX anymore because of this, etc... there might have been results. Shows have been saved in the past and this is the type of work that accomplished that. Of course I can't stand on a pulpit here, I'm to lazy to do anything. Just wanted to put this out as an FYI for people that actually think they can make a difference by signing a web petition. |
you werent lazy enough to post that lengthy opinion.......
|
If this show returns, it won't be on fox. Cartoon Network, or Comedy Central most likely. And the creator is working on another project, so if that doesn't work out, we can probably expect more episodes of the Family Guy.
|
matteo101:
I was too lazy to post a shorter one though. For me writing is a ten step process: 1) Dump everything onto paper/computer 2) Edit for grammar, reduce rambling, focus, increase readability. 3) repeat 2 .... 1 is easy, the rest take too much time. Especiall in a tiny little text box. |
I think the show needed to be put down like the dying horse it was near the end.
There was only so far you could take that concept of a show, ESPECIALLY with Fox's lackluster treament of it. |

Yeah, when will people realize that online/email petitions aren't recognized by anyone? How hard is it for one person to make a list of 10,000 names online (compared to 10,000 unique signatures) |
I'll sign it, but I can't boycott Subway...three more months of 6-inch subs and I'll be as fit as Jared!
|
I didn't sign it because I don't think it will be revived. I do like the show though. It is hilarious and much more funny than The Simpsons most of the time.
|
holy crap they cancelled Family guy??
|
the reason i signed it is not because i believe it will be revived because that is unrealistic...i just want to sign it because somebody from fox someday will come across it and see 117 000 signitures and feel like an idiot for canceling it...
|
Keep it up guys, WE CAN SAVE PETER!!!
|
Is there a petition to sign calling for every last episode and master copy to be deleted, shredded, burnt and buried at midnight, at cross-roads near to a unconsecrated grave-yard?
I'll sign that! Mr Mephisto |
I would sign it if i actually believed it would make any difference. And Mr Mephisto what are you talking about, family was awesome.
|
wow........they saved it.
|
and the series re-premire was actually pretty fucking funny. not all of it was extraordinarily funny, but they didnt suffer from trying to be funny, which was good.
on the other hand, based on the first episode of American Dad, that i saw after the Super Bowl, i can safely say that i have no interest in that show one bit. |

ah but my dear Kadath... viewers *are* profit... when people are watching they make more money.

i love the opening line...
listing all the shows that came on that needed to be cancelled before Family Guy got a shot again... that was funny. |

Does this show get any funnier? I was laughing so hard on sunday with the vomiting scene. Who is watching this show? why is there no thread on it?
|
Goddamn the show is fucking hilarious. Every minute of it, every show.
|
what about when the Herculoids showed up, bursting through the living room door??? what mind thought that up?
|
Tonight's episode was awesome. That bit with Quagmire was hysterical. That was probably the best out of all of the new episodes, and probably a top five over all. "Gigiddy gigiddy goo"
|
Anyone else think the show's getting more random... in a bad way? I know family guy has a lot of random humour, but it used to tie into the plot more. Like tonights episode where peter was going... ah the fence, the cripple's natural enemy. And then the cop dude appears in a military chopper, with the chinese guy making some random obscure joke when he blows the fucking street to hell getting into the sewer.
Just seemed to me they were beating the dead horse. way over the top. |
I don't think it's any more random that when it first started...
I mean.. I loved the AHA tie in.... :) Where were you???? I don't know!!!!!!! |
"That one was also sexual"

Family Guy can be a little tedious when a joke goes on and on, but overall it's what adds to its charm. /nostalgic for 80's music, of a sudden |
This one seemed really forced on a lot of bits. I LOVED the Aha bit.. but alot of the stuff is just setups now...
blah blah, like when "<random scene setup>". <random scene>. It just hurt after a while. Still, Aha, Goonies, Neverending Story references.. great. Disappointed that there were a ton of sewer scenes and no Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, though hehe. BTW. Compare: http://www.joyrex.net/images/pgriffin-real.jpg to http://www.joyrex.net/images/pgriffin-yearbook.jpg |
I've been noticing the plots have seemed more disjointed than they used to, going off on tangents that barely make sense. And I agree there's been way too many of the setups, I've been loving the on-and-on jokes though, like when Stewie talks about Brian's book for 2 minutes I was rolling.
[Edit] Oh and the Herculoids was the first Family Guy reference I have ever not gotten. They went WAY back for that one though, so I have an excuse :) |

I never said it was real. I'm guessing someone photoshoped the name (haven't clicked the snopes link yet).
It's still funny. |
"want some more seamen on your poopdeck"

okay, i'm just going to use this an "all about family guy thread", So i'm wondering on all of your opinions about this. I'm looking for (in your opinion) the most over the top family guy joke... as in those ones where you say to yourself "holy shit even I can't believe they said/did that?!?!"
I'll give my vote... I would have to say in the episode "..and the weiner is" Meg gets a postion as flag girl but is treated pretty bad by the other kids, towards the end of the show megs goes to a party at one of the cheerleaders house to get even but decides to cop out. so Lois has a backup plan.... Quagmire... He shows up at the door and asks the cheerleader how old she is... she says 16... He then says 18?!..she then yells for mom and then Quagmire gives an ol "alllll right.." I thought it was funny as hell, but thought...wow.. they let that air?? So how about it people.. any others in your opinion??? |

I saw that episode last night as well (DVR'd) - funny.
My favorite one liner from the show - "You are about as lame as FDR's legs".... ;) |
The JFK Jr joke that even Stewie found distasteful was pretty bad, probably the most over the top from the series, some of the jokes from the Stewie Griffin: Untold story movie make that seem like nothing though ;)
