Oh shit, I just realized that movie doesn't come out until May of 2005. Soooo much can happen between now and then. Let the anticipation begin.

Fremen 11-10-2004 02:32 PM

Here's one of the first images of General Grievous and his bodyguards from the movie.

What do you figure, another 12 months before this is out on DVD?

I don't know if I have that much patience. :D

darkness1162 11-10-2004 04:53 PM

one of my favorite reviews of the god-awful parts of Episode 2: (some of it was good, but Lucas has clearly lost his touch):

http://archives.cnn.com/2002/SHOWBIZ...ara.star.wars/
Unfortunately, given Lucas' proven knack for lousy dialogue, you can't help but snicker at the two lovebirds. Special mention has to go to Anakin's head-scratching segue between complaining about beach sand and marveling at Amidala's silky-smooth complexion. For a couple of terrifying seconds, it seems like he might start singing.

Bonesaw 11-10-2004 08:48 PM

Fremen: Great find on the Grievous pic!

I'm a sucker for the image and so I carved one of my pumpkins for Halloween with a likeness of the General.

Hehe, I like that. He does look skull-like, eh?
Good job, Bonesaw. :)

dont worry, its sure to suck. The official trailer is online at starwars.com. you have to register, but that's free. the acting in episode 2 makes pauly shore look like robert deniro.

pcockren 11-15-2004 04:58 PM

funny everyone knows it's gonna suck but we're all going to see it anyway...give up our $10 to sit through a badly scripted CGI movie

Slow it down there, son. You have to back up your 'it's gonna suck' stuff.

To all those who think EP3 will suck: Yoda says "Shut up the F, you must!" :)

Suave 11-15-2004 09:01 PM

Episode 1 sucked balls. Episode 2 was awesome. Episode 3 will also be awesome.

Has anybody read the new article in Vanity Fair yet? The info in it makes me want to read the Joseph Campbell books to see just exactly how much Lucas is actually pulling from those versus just making crap up to try and justify the new movies.

dy156 01-20-2005 10:44 AM

I bought the magazine just for that article.

revealing my star wars nerd-dom, here is a link that contains many pictures from the upcoming movie. WARNING! LOTS OF SPOILERS

don't click it if you don't want to see.
P.S. may not be up for long, since Lucas has taken down lots of these sights so that you have to pay on starwars.com to see them.

So, here's the best I've found out there so far. You've been warned.

*Drool* Holy sweet merciful crap! Thank you, thank you, thank you. I think I need to wipe off my keyboard tho...

Bonesaw 01-22-2005 07:20 PM

well thanks most definitely needs to go to you dy156....great collection.

i just wish that i wasn't on dial-up at the moment to truly enjoy. hopefully they stay up long enough for me to get back to my cable connection on tuesday.

former newt 01-23-2005 03:52 PM

oh sweet hey-zeus.

that collection is pretty big. i have not idea how so many pics could have been leaked, but it surely wets my appetite. can't wait til may.

dy156 01-23-2005 04:01 PM

Guys, I found the link, but it's not my collection. Can't take credit for it. Sorry if I didn't make that clear in the post. My nerd-dom was the fact that I found 'em, not that I had posted them. They are pretty cool though, huh?

tecoyah 01-23-2005 04:02 PM

I was so dissapointed with the first two....I doubt I will hit the theaters for the third. Might rent the dvd someday though.

dy156 01-27-2005 07:20 AM

they've announced the opening crawl for episode III
Spoiler warning:

found here
(along with the opening crawl of all the films)

if you don't want to click on it, I've typed it out. I tried to make it yellow, but it kinda showed up even with the spoiler tag.
Imagine slowly disappearing against a space background:

Spoiler:

War! The Republic is crumbling
under attacks by the ruthless
Sith Lord, Count Dooku.
There are heroes on both sides.
Evil is everywhere.

In a stunning move, the
fiendish droid leader, General
Grevous, has swept into the
Republic capital and kidnapped
Chancellor Palpatine, leader of
the Galactic Senate.

As the Separatist Droid Army
attempts to flee the besieged
capital with their valuable
hostage, two Jedi Knights lead a
desperate mission to rescue the
captive Chancellor

Bonesaw 01-27-2005 08:26 AM

Oh yeah. That's the kind of crawl the first two should've had! This movie is going to be great even if it sucks. Too many cool things are present to have it fail. Now I must catch up on my SW reading...so many new books coming out that flesh out the Clone Wars.

skinnymofo 01-27-2005 11:39 AM

i hope all those single character pictures arent shots from the movie where they are in front of a blue screen for 90% of the movie :(

gnort 02-28-2005 08:38 PM

Alright, here's a new trailer

http://www.solid-roc.com/Ep3Trailer_pixelmagic720.mov

It has some awesome footage including General Grievous.

I'm not sure if it's official or not. It kinda of has a fan-made feel...but has footage that is pretty amazing. Plus, how would somebody other than lucasfilms obtain clips like this? Anyway, enjoy :)

Bonesaw 02-28-2005 08:48 PM

Hard to say if it was fan made....too many shots looked like actual footage but the cutting was a bit odd...plus no dramatic voice-over like with the other trailers Lucas has put out before the new trilogy films.

Fun to watch nonetheless..

Good find gnort!

Bonesaw 02-28-2005 08:51 PM

Found this on the official Starwars page

Suave 02-28-2005 09:57 PM

Good news for me, since I watch the OC religiously as it is!

SitizenVZ 03-01-2005 11:06 AM

I hope they don't over do it on the special effects like the last two times (I'm dreaming I know). Darth Vader should be the scariest thing in the movie, but I'm sure the most evil looking thing will be some weird alien that we see for 1 scene.

Last Star Wars Film 'not for children'

The sixth and final Star Wars movie may not be suitable for young children, film-maker George Lucas has said.
He told US TV show 60 Minutes that Revenge of the Sith would be the darkest and most violent of the series.

"I don't think I would take a five or six-year-old to this," he told the CBS programme, to be aired on Sunday.

Lucas predicted the film would get a US rating advising parents some scenes may be unsuitable for under-13s. It opens in the UK and US on 19 May.

He said he expected the film would be classified PG-13 - roughly equivalent to a British 12A rating.

The five previous Star Wars films have all carried less restrictive PG - parental guidance - ratings in the US.

In the UK, they have all been passed U - suitable for all - with the exception of Attack of The Clones, which got a PG rating in 2002.

Revenge of the Sith - the third prequel to the original 1977 Star Wars film - chronicles the transformation of the heroic Anakin Skywalker into the evil Darth Vader as he travels to a Hell-like planet composed of erupting volcanoes and molten lava.

"We're going to watch him make a pact with the devil," Lucas said.

"The film is much more dark, more emotional. It's much more of a tragedy."
Hopefully this means that Jar Jar dies, although I wouldn't consider that a "tragedy" per se.

Zotz 03-11-2005 06:44 PM

I think I've watched the trailer about 10 times now. It looks like there is going to be plenty of action! Whoa!!!

Bonesaw 03-11-2005 09:42 PM

OMFG!!!!!!!

I don't care if the rest of the movies sucks...the trailer kicks some SERIOUS ASS!!!

Mr. Deflok....thanks for the link

Roark 03-13-2005 05:18 AM

I so hope it lives up to the hype and can't wait to see it in May. The first two prequels have provided more story but as movies have lacked in my opinion.

Kazic 03-13-2005 05:44 PM

First time seeing the full trailer. I didn't watch the teaser.

All I can say right now .....

Anakin ...

speechless...

the dark side is dark for a reason...

Stompy 03-14-2005 08:51 AM

Who the hell is General Grevous?

People talk of him like he's famous a la Boba Fett, but I've never ever heard of him in my life. Was he in EP2 or something? I've only seen that once, so maybe he was in there and I missed it... but I KNOW he wasn't in the originals.
