Suprising rendition of an old anime
I bought Crying Freeman from ebay a few days ago, and unlike the old but cool anime series of the same name this one was a live action film staring Mark Dacascos.
I would recommend this film to anyone who likes John Woo style action. The story transfered really well from anime to live action, and the action is really nice but not over the top. 3.75 out of 5 stars.

You are kidding? I love the Crying Freeman series, when did this live action come out? Dacascos was bad ass in Only The Strong, Drive, and The Brotherhood Of The Wolf, and I could imagine him doing a good job with this. Does anyone know if its rentable?

Oh GOD!! Crying Freeman was a shitty series by the end. How can you guys have liked it? That last episode, with the giant raping Freeman's negress, and the switch, and UGH! Horrible. But I'll check out the movie.

I was able to purchase it online for cheap.
Action movies tend to get low scores, but IMDB'ers give it a 6.4...which isn't bad on that site.
