X Men: First Class

IMDb Video: X-Men: First Class: Trailer #1

I couldn't hear the sound, but I think it's because I'm at work.

Damn it, now my hopes are up! I'm not a big fan of the X-Men movies and Wolverine was truly terrible, but I feel like this could make for an interesting and entertaining movie. Am I the definition of crazy?

levite 02-11-2011 02:59 PM

Just saw the trailer. Short trailer, but promising enough that I will go and see it.

Please don't suck please don't suck please don't suck...

Hopefully this is as good as the others (I liked the third). I'll be in line on opening night to see it!

:eek::eek::eek:

OMG, the THIRD?! Are you kidding me? Brett Ratner took the greatest storyline ever done in comics, and he turned it into a subplot that was barely there! The screenplay was hash, and the plot was a nightmare of contradictions and inconsistencies!

Oh, dude....

Willravel 02-11-2011 07:02 PM

Maybe he means the second?!

Zeraph 02-16-2011 12:12 PM

Looks cool but its blasphemy that Patrick Stewart isn't in it! I'm sure they could have made him look younger. His face isn't really that wrinkly. Its just his hair that makes him look old, and that's easily fixed.

><

nope there's been 3. The first, with that dam and all and the politics guy (striker I think?). The second where it seems like Patrick Stewart is dead until you see the end (and they fight magneto and his army over that kid) And it seems like magneto looses his powers. And the third is wolverines origins. Which is surprisingly good. So this will be the 4th..

Naw, dude, the first one was the one that culminated at Liberty Island, and the showdown with Magneto where he gets captured and Rogue gets the streak in her hair. The second one was the one that culminated at Alkalai Lake Dam, Striker bought it, and Jean apparently drowned, setting up the whole Phoenix story arc that that ignorant unartistic bastard of a director ruined in the third movie, which was the one that culminated with the battle at Alcatraz. The Wolverine movie was separate-- which, I have to say, I thought was a bad movie featuring very good work by Hugh Jackman.

Since XMen 3 and Wolverine Origins... I just can't muster any excitement over this series.

The world need more people like levite.

I appear to be in the minority, but I don't think this looks good. It doesn't look as spectacularly awful as X3 was, but that's about the best I can say for it based on what I've seen.

YaWhateva 02-19-2011 03:17 AM

I wish gambit wasn't horrible in the wolverine movie. And I wish deadpool was made into complete nonsense like he was in the movie. Ryan Reynolds is perfect to play him but god damn they fucked his story up so bad.

Cynthetiq 02-28-2011 08:09 PM

I don't care. I liked them, they were what I expected them to be, just like I expect Godzilla movies to be. Bad, with over the top special effects and plot holes that Godzilla himself can walk through.

I'll watch this too.

I liked them all, then again, I didn't pay $15 to see them. If I did, they would have sucked.

Re: Gambit. TRUTH!! I was gutted by how they raped my favourite X-man. They might redeem themselves in my eyes they do a proper Origins movie for Gambit (complete with Mr Sinister, alternate universe, future et al) and cast Vincent Cassell as Gambit.

Re: Deadpool. I like the fact that they went for thr alternate universe Dead Man Wade instead of the standard Deadpool, but they fucked it up completely on two fronts. Firstly by making his blades come out of his hands - it's stupid since you lose all advantages a hand-wielded blade has and gain nothing except a wolverine-mimicking effect. Secondly by making him "weapon 11". Thanks for raping the whole "Weapon X" concept with that one, again without gaining anything, except renaming the movie "Weapon 10" in my head. Which is about as disgusting as the movie was, so I suppose its apt.

Oh, and Wolverine's movie was filled with too much cheese. Its what I'd expect from a recent Nicholas Cage movie.

Looks like it could be good, but what is with those "epic" shots at the end of the trailer with the horrible CG sub?
