Your Highness - Restricted Trailer Video - IGN

Above is a redband trailer for the upcoming fantasy comedy film Your Highness, starring James Franco, Natalie Portman, Danny McBride, Zooey Deschanel, and Michael Clarke Duncan, and from the director of Pineapple Express.

It's a a fantasy film, which tend to go as one of the following:

• Good fantasy films: rare (Lord of the Rings trilogy)
• Bad fantasy films: common, all too common (Dungeons and Dragons, Dungeon Siege)

However, there are a few things going on here in addition to the obvious comedic elements: a fairly decent cast; passable props, settings, effects; and some pretty funny looking scenes/gags. Also, here is a production note from the Wikipedia entry:
I know it's not that likely to be brilliant, but I want to see this. I like how they make it seem like a legitimate story (not exactly a spoof) and yet have it rife with comedy.

What do you guys think of this?

I think Danny McBride is hilarious, and it's good to see him in a major role like this. I think it could be a couple hours' good entertainment. I hope it works. As far as it goes for a fantasy film, it helps that they aren't taking it seriously, so if there are cheesy bits, it's totally okay.

I am most likely going to watch this film because Natalie Portman is playing a super bad ass fighter and she gets sort of naked.

Probably a poor reason to see the film, but oh well.

When I first saw the trailer I was like DEFINITELY going to see this movie! I love these films.

Hold on...just taking a moment to think about Natalie Portman AND Zooey Deschanel.

I was going to make this topic a few days ago, but I figured this was definitely a stoner comedy and not many TFPers are stoners. I guess you don't need to be one to appreciate this one though. This movie looks hilarious. The line "If your vagina is anything like my hand, then there will be no problems" had me rolling.

I wouldn't say that it would be my style of movie, yet it does have comedic value. And any movie with Natalie Portman or Zooey in would be worth seeing, here's hoping that they have a scene or two together in it...

And I loved that line too.

A red band trailer is for restricted audiences only.

Compare to a green band trailer, which is normally rated for all audiences.

It could be the next "Princess Bride." Though I admit this is the first I've heard of it.

Low brow comedy + fantasy world + hot chicks? Why yes, I would like to laugh at inappropriate situations and language while ogling hot chicks in armor that wouldn't protect a fly.

My friend showed me the trailer to this movie and I couldn't stop cracking up. Danny McBride and James Franco are hilarious. Pineapple Express was made by those 2 guys characters.

I'd go see it out of curiosity, and because Zooey and Natalie are very nice additions. Not sure how funny I'd find it, though.

I was already sold by Zooey Deschanel, and thong wearing Natalie Portman. That line sold me on opening night.

I'll probably have to see this alone. I don't think my wife would find it funny. Any word on how bloody/gory it will be (I'm hoping not particularly)?
