If a biopic of your life was made?

And what music would play over the end credits?

I will answer this myself but I have to think about it some more first.

I'd like Oliver Platt to play my part. He vaguely resembles me, and I like his attitude and the way he carries himself in a few of his movies.

As for ending credit music, I'd pick Toto's "Africa".

I'd be played by Keanu Reeves just cuz people say i look like him for some reason. Especially when i wear sunglasses lol.

End credits music is a harder question to answer for some reason. I'll have to think about that one.

Scott Grimes. I don't really look like him but he's practically the only Redheaded actor I can think of at the moment.

Couldn't tell ya what the ending credits music would be. The movie ain't over yet.

By rights I should say Kevin Smith, even though he's a far better director than actor (as he'd be the first to say), because I get asked a lot if I'm him....

But I think, giving the makers of my biopic a little creative license, I'd want to go with maybe...I dunno...like David Arquette. Or possibly Fred Savage. Neither really looks like me, but they both have the kind of odd quirky "I might be thinking a little too much" attitude that I have.

It's hard, because what I really need is someone who's like a 45/45/5/5 mix of Kenneth Branagh/Fyvush Finkel/Tommy Chong/Ron Jeremy.

And while I can't say about closing credits, I can say that my theme song is almost always the Steve Miller Band's "Joker."

Johnny Galecki or Elijah Wood (just because they are the same height as me and can play socially awkward people really well).

End credit score depends on if I were killed by a random thug, then it should be dramatic classical music.

Nicholas Cage apparently. I've been compared to him half a dozen times, even by complete strangers.

Age appropriate? I guess Henry Cavill. We were born around the same time, look a bit alike and he was pretty good in The Tudors.

Without worrying about age? Sean Connery, without hesitation.

Sometimes there's a man... I won't say a hero, because, what's a hero? But sometimes, there's a man. And I'm talking about the Roachboy here. Sometimes, there's a man, well, he's the man for his time and place. He fits right in there...

When I think about an answer to this question I find myself thinking, "This is a hard one. I don't think I really look like any actor."

Then I realize that, maybe, they don't have to look exactly like me, but just have to be able to carry the type of "look" that I do...

That brings a couple actors to mind for me. Which I could see best playing me would really depend on the sort of movie being made.

If it was a raw, gritty, and realistic portrayal of my life, I think Sam Rockwell would be able to portray myself and my actual persona well.

On the other hand, if they decided to go very Hollywood with it, James Franco, I believe, would be able to bring my character to life on the big screen.

Of course, this is all hypothetically assuming my life were already over and the movie were to be made today. By the time I actually die, these actors will be old men and no longer very suitable for the part...

As for the track behind the end credits, I would definitely have to go with "Californication" by The Red Hot Chili Peppers. Not that the lyrics of the song have any significance to my life or anything; I just think the tune would be a very fitting way to end a movie about my life...

Oingo Boingo: Just Another Day

I keep coming up with Giovanni Ribisi. He has the right general demeanor, where he can play the shifts between quiet confidence, outward humour, and covert but commanding neuroses, with the rare but poignant nervous and self-conscious ranting.

He's also about the right age and stature, and with the right makeup and hair department, he could be made up to look well enough like me.

I'm hopefully not halfway through my life yet and I think the actor depends on what sort of a life it turns out to be. Lots and lots of actors have passed through my head hoping to be me, since I posed this question but I keep coming back to one: Matt Dillon. I saw lots of myself in his Hank Chinaski in Factotum.

Greg Kinnear came close and I'd love to have Michael Douglas circa twenty years ago being me but it wouldn't really be very accurate because I'm not as indignant and confrontational as he is.

If the film has a sad or poignant ending, for the credits I'd have this song: The World Spins by Julee Cruise.


If it had a more happy ending I'd have Fiona Apple's Across the Universe. I remember it being on the end of Pleasantville and coming out of the cinema into the sunshine almost bursting with contentment and happiness.

Both Edward Norton and Robert Patrick would be poor choices for me. They're not scrawny enough and don't really carry the goofy why-is-this-guy-laughing? vibe. Nicholas Cage will never be confused for a serious action hero and is probably a better fit for my dorky self. Think: Snake Eyes.

What about an emaciated, The Machinist Christian Bale?

Actually, the other day when I was answering this, I had thought the question was in regards to the opening song. Before finishing my post I realized it was in regard to the end credits, though.

Coincidentally, I had only one song in mind for the start of my movie...
