all junk movies around
where is matrix? where is lord of rings? Lately ı can't see a good movie. Am ı the only one thinking so?

Well what constitutes a good movie in your opinion? I think that The Matrix is an overrated piece of garbage. The LOTR series was probably a little too faithful to the books by the end but still it was was entertaining in a mindless sort of way.
Are you just looking for mindless pap with lots of explosions and fights or are you looking for actual storytelling? |
Man, all this overhype and praise for the film Toy Story 3 has me a bit anxious and uneasy that the "unprecedented" praise it is currently receiving will not live up to what's going around. Just a random thought, and I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy it nonetheless.
What's junk is relying on others to pave the way for you to discover and enjoy the literally thousands of films that are produced each and every year. Regarding your two very terse examples, I agree with The_Jazz about his sentiments, on both counts. I can't honetsly recall if I actually enjoyed The Matrix initially at the time, mostly because I didn't get it, and then when I did, I was left wanting. Taking on briefly the account of LOTR, I can almost hardly believe that was only a trilogy. I can still remember maybe investing a good solid third of my day (~eight hours) watching these films back-to-back, way back whenever. Visually-striking and beautifully captured, it was great in the moment of it, but as the story progressed, and then dragged on, I was just hoping for it to end already. I doubt I'd want to watch these films again, though (in this decade). |
Twigh: If you went to the theater anyways, then you have your answer....No need to make good movies when people will pay for the bad ones.

Jetee: My family enjoyed Toy Story 3 tremendously (my son is 7). I avoided all hype going in, except for my expectations based on Pixar's quality so far. Don't stress, it isn't a cheap sequel.

I doubt I was going to be disappointed at all by it, (responding to RedLemon, in regards to Toy Story 3) but going into it, and hearing this morning that this film had yet to receive one negative review out of a whopping 105 critics' submissions, thereby making it 100% fresh on rottentomatoes, I was wondering, "wow! when's the last time this ever happened?".
Then, not two minutes ago, two minutes before midnight, even, I came across this article, and I chuckled to myself, thinking of the irony: Toy Story 3 Finally Gets Negative Review, Becomes The Second Best Reviewed Movie Of All Time | /Film |
You obviously haven't seen the A-Team.
How to Train Your Dragon was very, very popular. Recently there was Crazy Heart, Inglorious Basterds, A Serious Man, and Hurt Locker. If you're willing to wait a bit, Inception looks like it could be very good. Lebanon could be good, so long as it's not propaganda. And there's a Bruce Lee movie coming out in November. |
