TV shows TFP wants to live in

Bear Cub invites you to ponder all of the sitcoms, cartoons, sci-fi, and what-have-you that you regularly, or not so regularly, watch on the boob tube.

If the world inside these TV shows actually existed, which one would you want to be a part of?

Bear Cub sees two possibilities for himself:

Skins - Quite possibly the best TV show ever, and perfectly suited for Bear Cub. Gorgeous late high school to early "uni" girls, promiscuity, a free-for-all of narcotics and alcohol. Perhaps more importantly, a relatively care-free life when careers and the responsibilities of adulthood are still a thing of the future, and a group of remarkably genuine friends.

Futurama - Bear Cub and Bender should be heterosexual life partners. And, if I were frozen like Fry, I'd be rich.

Oh, '80s wet dreams come true!

A-Team. I'd be Murdock.

Sledgehammer. I'd be Sledge.

Xerxys 08-31-2009 05:51 PM

Heroes, I'd be Sylar!

Reese 08-31-2009 06:01 PM

Three's Company.. I'd totally do what Jack never got around to doing.

CSI: Miami... so I can slap the shit out of David Caruso.

Knight Rider (the original)... Kitt's mine.

Hung... I need a happyness consultant.

and Nurse Jackie and Weeds. Because it would be awesome.

Yes. This. Yes. NOW.

wooÐs 08-31-2009 06:32 PM

House.

I'm certain I could seduce him repeatedly for prescriptions and sex.

The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. I LOVED this series when I was younger. It was fun, but it was for adults. I want to follow around Brisco and Bowler, having fun and adventures.

guy44 08-31-2009 07:23 PM

Skinemax.

Baraka_Guru 08-31-2009 07:26 PM

Ace of Cakes.

Holy shit, I'd totally eat those cakes. No matter how beautiful or elaborate they are, I'd fuck them up.

With my mouth.

mixedmedia 08-31-2009 07:31 PM

Can I possibly express my dismay that no one yet has claimed the original Star Trek?

I will.

Willravel 08-31-2009 07:34 PM

I was going to post it, but with my luck I'd be a red shirt.

CinnamonGirl 08-31-2009 09:34 PM

Pretty sure anyone who knows me already knows the answer to this: either Buffy or Firefly. I wouldn't want to BE any of the characters, but I'd love to hang out with them and fight demons/Reavers/vampires/the Alliance/whatever else.

What, fuck Mr. Hurley in the Regal Beagle?

I'd like to live the Grizzly Adams or Gunsmoke lifestyle, or be a CHiPs officer or Adam-12 officer. Ohh, or on Barney Miller.

Rat Patrol was cool, too.

mixedmedia 09-01-2009 02:45 AM

heh, Barney Miller. I could dig that.

fresnelly 09-01-2009 04:06 AM

The Wonder Years.

While Kevin waffled, I'd ask Winnie out and we'd lose our virginity together in the back of an Impala Wagon.

Kevin Arnold was a lousy teenage rolemodel.

Nisses 09-01-2009 04:22 AM

With Sledgehammer taken (damn you Crompsin),

Big Bang Theory, as an extra addition to the cast
Rurouni Kenshin (Samurai X), as the guy with the hypnotic eyes.
Step by Step as JD's friend (secret dream of wanting to date Dana back in the day)

Crack 09-01-2009 04:32 AM

It's always sunny in Philadelphia. I'd bang the shit out of the waitress while Charlie cried outside of the window. Then crazy shit would happen while we all yelled at/made fun of each other.

noodle 09-01-2009 11:45 AM

I'd totally go for Bourdain's No Reservations.
Or along with Adam on Man vs. Food (for the horror factor). Or Zane on Three Sheets.
But not Jackass. Nooooo.

I wouldn't mind living inside Breaking Bad or Dexter either. As an observer... not a dealer or victim.

mixedmedia 09-01-2009 12:05 PM

well, if we're going to go 'real' tv...I always liked Lonely Planet and thought it would be fun to run around the world with Ian.

Bear Cub 09-01-2009 01:10 PM

I'm loving both the Man vs. Food reply, as well as the It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Both are Bear Cub's kind of people.

Grancey 09-01-2009 01:53 PM

Bonanza.........

ratbastid 09-01-2009 02:06 PM

Defying Gravity! Interplanetary soap opera? Count me IN!

What. I can't be the only person watching that, can I? It's got Ron Livingston, for god's sake! Everybody loves Ron Livingston!

Xerxys 09-01-2009 02:06 PM

I'd hate to be Barney in How I met your mother.

Why? He's made of awesome.

I've also decided that I'd love to be Penny's roommate on the Big Bang Theory.

thespian86 09-01-2009 02:46 PM

The OC: think about it. Excess beyond the means of reality. Rachel Bilson. the end.

I guess maybe 30 Rock.

For a serious drama, I'd have to say either The Unit or The Shield. For The Unit, I'd rather just be an invincible, immortal observer. I don't actually have the required skills/fitness to take part. The Shield, because there are things I would have done differently than some of the characters.

The Shield=Best. Show. Ever.
