24 season 7
Starts tonight - anybody watching?
|
Tony's back. Of course I'm watching.
Tony was my favorite character for a long time and I was pissed that they basically punked him out with his "death" scene and then didn't even give him the silent clock. |

Yeah, I thought the same thing. Poster #2 is in Canada. Perhaps the first is in a foreign market as well? I have heard from friends in other countries that they are now getting the current season of shows re-broadcast over there just a few weeks delayed. It used to be more like a few years than a few weeks, so I guess it is an improvement.
I guess if we wanted to be cruel to these guys, we could write out spoilers from 4 weeks hence. |
I'm as up to date as you guys are. I don't know about the OP.
|
Not much chatter on here, but I'm still a huge 24 fan. This season has been incredible thus far and has really intrigued me unlike the last few seasons. They are able to stay on track and just are doing a phenomenal job. Best line of the season so far . . . "With all due respect, ask around". My only critique is how often Jack uses the word necessary. It is being overused to the point of distracting. Other than that, just fantastic.
|
"Necessary", "You're just going to have to trust me" and "dammit!". He's being doing that for 7 years now. Seriously, you could make a pretty good drinking game out of it.

Gee wonder if the terrorists are going after the White House...

I don't care, I watch the show to enjoy it and take my mind off of other things. I've heard the show refered to as a "guy soap opera" and that's just how I watch it. I don't analyze (at least not too deeply) and I don't second guess. I just yell out things like "Go Jack!" and "Cool explosion!" :) |
I love the show and everything but last night's episodes had so many holes in them it made it hard to watch at times. Only the bad guys can access video feeds in the White House? A secret entrance to the White House? The lockdown room has no means of communication to the outside world? Aaron can't call anyone on his cell phone to let them know the president is safe?

So angry. So very angry. |
I enjoyed last night. Jack's back on his own again, and I can't wait to see him let loose. Also, Renee being fired makes me think that she's going to still run around and do shit with Jack. She totally wants his balls.
|
yup, pretty much what you said. As my last post indicated, I was kind of...grumpy...about last week's two parter, but they basically resolved that quickly and cool-ly enough that I'm ok with where we've ended up. Spoiler: I'm very sad to see Bill take the fall, though. He was always one of my favorites.
|
Keeping this thread alive. This episode was O.K. it was much more plot development. Spoiler: Jack seems to be getting to the point where he is in deep and something HUGE needs to happen in order to get the feds off him. Especially if they have the 'shoot on sight' order. Not sure how he will clear his name of Senator Mayor's murder especially with Quinn dead. It probably won't matter, since it sounds like the biological weaponry is going to be a much bigger deal. Also I hate Olivia Taylor. She is a conniving bitch. Just saying. She already screwed up her mother's campaign once, she's about to do some shit again.
|
Spoiler: My wife is positive that Olivia Taylor is working for John Voight. She doesn't think there's any way that she will come out a good guy when this season has played all its cards. I'm mostly angry because Aaron took care of her, and you don't just use Aaron like that.
Jack's definitely in a rut, and he's not really making any attempt to keep himself in the clear this time around. |
Geez, what's with the FBI guy tossing people in "holding"?
|
This week's ep was much improved over last week's
|
I totally agree with your wife, Frosstbyte. Spoiler: I don't think that Olivia Taylor is necessarily working directly for Jonas Hodges (Jon Voight). I think she's evil, but I don't think it's that clear yet. It never is, they always present you a character. Then they do something weird that changes your perspective on that character, but that action, though it usually changes your perception of the character doesn't necessarily pan out, and is usually just trying to fuck with your head.
|
So does anyone else think that they've basically tossed Tony's character out the window in exchange for having some plot to go after in the last 6 episodes? I watched Monday's episode twice and the ending the first time surprised me and confused me, but watching it a second time, and it's just totally implausible. The only explanation for his actions is that he knew all along what everyone else was doing and set up this whole affair and his involvement in it so that he could pull a Season 3 Nina to steal the weapon and sell it to someone else. Which I guess he could, but it sure seems totally over elaborate and not at all meaningfully in line with the Tony they've shown on screen. Oh well.
|
I've been thinking on this too and the only solution I can come up with is that Tony's not mad a the whole country... just one person or a small group of people. Maybe he didn't want to see the missles hurt innocent Americans, but he does want to take this one tank and use it on a specific person or group.
It's a pretty lame theory and I'm kinda pissed that 24 is making me work so hard. The real solution better be worth it. |
