I want to recommend this movie. Its incredible. Ben Kingsley is the most frightening 5' man on the planet in this movie. Its great to see him do such a role. He plays the anti-ghandi more or less. A gangster bent on getting his way.

The editing and directing of this movie are astounding. It is a masterpiece in these categories. Directed by Jonathon Glazer who, from what I hear, is working on something now with Deniro and Benicio Del Toro.

If you haven't seen this movie go out and rent it. The acting is first-rate. Ray Winstone plays the lead. All the actors are fantastic though.

Ben Kinglsey was up for best supporting actor for it.

Its found a good home in my collection. Its definitely not a fun-loving movie, its very intense because of the character's exchanges. Its got a bit of everything.

My friends and I saw this movie after we heard about it on the Oscars and what not. It was awesome. We had only previously seen Kingsley in "Ghandi", but we were shocked (a good shocked) how cool he was in the movie. We had trouble with the thick accents for a while, but got used to it. I loved that part where he's all "No, no, no, no, no, no!!"
This was probably one of the best British mobster movies I've ever seen. Not only is the whole heist plot line interesting, but the whole deal between the retired guy and Kingsley is great. If anyone has a chance to see this, see it.

Kingsley plays a great scitzho, psycho, grimey cockney gangster.
I can understand how people would struggle to catch all the dialogue because of the cockney accents and slang but that shouldnt put you off. This is a really good film.

One of my favorite parts is when Kingsley is talking to himself in the bathroom mirror while shaving. Classic.

he's an incredible actor... someone who can do Gandhi, Sexy Beast, AND the Diary of Anne Frank, all outstandingly well, HAS to be an INCREDIBLE actor. And that he is.

Great movie. I especially liked the "other" bad guy, the guy who is trying to find out what happened to Kingsley's character. That gut was somehow very scary.
