podcasts, anyone?

Anyone else into the wild and wooly (?) world of podcasts? I'm hooked on The Joan Kenley Show (it's on iTunes and her website) - good talk radio with a progressive bent and really interesting and knowledgeable guests. Thought I'd recommend it to others and also see if anyone has anything along those lines to recommend to me? Mostly interested in the subjects she covers; politics, relationships, health, ecology. I like the holistic and full-spectrum quality of the show. Also like things like "This American Life" - to give you an idea of my tastes. Any suggestions appreciated, but preferably free things!

Check out the Radio Lab podcast. They're off-season right now, so the podcasts they're putting out aren't the full radio show, but little teasers and tastes each week. but it's an AMAZING radio show--like TAL on drugs.

Can you link to it? It sounds great. It's free, right? I should have put that The Joan Kenley Show is free, and no commercials. That's important to me. Free things of quality on drugs are good.

penny arcade. Both of their podcasts (the irregular fly-on-the-wall drawing the comic one, and the friday one on wizards.com) are hilarious and have gotten me through many a' workday.

Thank you, lol. No, I'm just not good at researching. Though I did find something amusing when I Googled The Joan Kenley Show looking for more stuff like it... Joan Kenley is apparently the voice of most of voicemail. She's the "press seven to delete, press nine to save" lady. Funny, that.

Maybe this could be in general discussion for more attention?

My current favourites:

Entitled Opinions
This American Life (And i'm not a yank!)
The Skeptic's Guide To The Universe
Stuff You Should Know
Thinking Allowed
The History of Rome
The Bugle (John Oliver of The Daily Show and one of his friends take a surreal view on current events)

I'm something of a "Long stroll with my ipod" fan.

(they're all easily found on iTunes or googlicious)

I listen to the Adam Carolla Podcast every day.

I sure wish commercial radio could offer the same long format, focused fare that you get in podcasts.

As is Adam Carolla.

I also listen to the B.S. Report (Bill Simmons of ESPN.com).

I also listen to The Skeptic's Guide to the Universe. In addition to that, Skeptoid, I've done a few episodes of Skepticality but am not really getting into it, and Savage Love for sex and relationship advice. SGU and Savage Love are must-haves in my book. If you have short breaks from time to time, Scientific American's 60 Second Science gives you a pretty good roundup of important and recent science news in 1:30 clips. Good for the short attention span type.
