Max Payne trailer
The trailer can be found at the link below. I love the games and from the looks of it, the movie captures the feel of the games 100%. I am definitely interested in seeing it.

Ehh it looks alright. The games are cool but that movie trailer isn't as great as everybody is saying it is. Of course movie trailers almost never give a good idea of how good a movie truly is (or even the tone of the movie) so you never know.

It's pretty easy to tell from a trailer if the feel of the game is captured or not.

I'm not totally sure what the weird angel things were about, and the thought of Mila Kunis as, well, anything but Meg Griffin scares me, but I agree with LS that they captured the feel of the game 100%. That might not be enough to make the movie great, but it sure looks like Max to me.

The weird angel things could just be Max's imagination. He has visions and dreams that you play through in games. Maybe they took that concept.

I don't know how some of these scenes from the game could even begin to shine in a movie. When you're walking through your bloody house looking for your wife and walking into a room queues voices or flashback.. I don't think a movie can do it... I'm very skeptical especially considering it's rated PG-13.. The game is about a drug fucking people up and max pwning their faces in super slow-mo! It's video game film noir.. It's perfect film noir converted to a game... there's got to be quality loss when converting it back to film.. meh We'll see..
oh.. the first game on Youtube.. :P http://youtube.com/watch?v=56LEzKVhVyE

Looks ok. MP1 and MP2 are two of my favorite games - I hope the movie does them justice.
Both games were pretty generic shooters but conveyed a "feeling" that made them special - this same, unmentioned "feeling" needs to be intertwined with the movie, by the director, or it will be terrible. I'm thinking something along the lines of Sin City - not necessarily the visuals, but the story/acting of Sin City. Max Payne needs to be similar.

all of you... be grateful that it's not Uwe Boll that is doing it.
I'm wondering just how their going to convey some of it like the drugs, but it's a very compelling idea knowing that Sin City and 300 were very stylized and still worked.

Also, I like Marky Mark and all, but I don't feel like his voice will do Max any justice.

I wonder how the game->movie conversion will go. Despite it's lack of popularity, I enjoyed Hitman. I think Agent 47 would've been better played by Jason Statham, though.

I think Jeffrey Donavan from "Burn Notice" would make a better Max Payne than Marky Mark.
