Jules and Michael are on a ferry ride and Michael says: "kimmy says, if you love someone you should just say it, cos if you dont, the moment just ...

and Jules finishes his sentence : "passes you by"

and the ferry goes under a bridge and it's dark for a moment and they come back into the sunlight...

And Michael takes Jules and starts singing their song as they dance on the ferry..." some day, when i'm awfully low..." and jules cries behind him when she puts her chin on his shoulder...

And, at the very end of the movie Jules makes a speech as the maid of honour at Michael and Kimmy's wedding.

"I had this dream, that some psycho was trying to break the two of you up...(with tears in her eyes, she goes on) but I wake up, and i see that the world exactly as it should be for my best friend, has found the best woman... I didnt get you a gift, but... this is on loan... until you two find your song"

and the song begins "some day...when i'm awfully low..."

and Michael looks up at Jules with tears in his eyes as she gave him and his wife their song...

scenes from My Best Friends Wedding.

While I have cried at movies since, the first movie I cried at was The Joy Luck Club. I don't know why this movie moved me to tears but it does every time.

I've cried at quite a few movies...but the only ones that are guaranteed to get me going every time I watch them are A League Of Their Own, La Bamba, and Band Of Brothers (technicallly not a movie, but close enough).

Yes. This and a couple scenes (a few?) in Braveheart.

Oh, and a particular scene in Life Is Beautiful. Those who've seen it, you know the one.

It is perfectly fine for a grown man to tear up watching Brian's Song.

But for some reason I feel like I have to check for my testicles in the scene from A League of their Own where they are going through the Hall of Fame and they flash on the Jimmy Dugan display.

the movie made me cry, but only because it *kinda* reminded me of the book...

I read the book when I was 12-13ish, and Leslie Burke will always be my first true love, and I will forever treasure the time we had.

Love Actually

That was a rollercoaster range of emotions in that film. Sometimes I would be crying because it was so happy, and other times because it was bittersweet, and other times it was just tragic. And I thought it was realistic, not like other "perfect" love stories.

Terms of Endearment. I can cry just remembering that one.

The end of About Schmidt makes me cry.

I cry when Warren Beatty dies at the end of Bulworth.

American Beauty - when Kevin Spacey dies followed almost immediately by Annette Bening grabbing his clothes in the closet and breaking down. Heartbreaking.

Magnolia. Tom Cruise's breakdown scene. (I have a thing for characters whose veneer of hatred cracks when their heart breaks.)

The end of Lost in Translation.

Into the Wild.

I'm sure there's many more...

Whenever I'm in need of a good cry, I watch the scene where Juliet goes to Mark's and watches the videos he shot of the wedding. It never fails.

The last scenes of Schindler's List, when the war ends, and the first thing all the Jewish slave workers do is say Kaddish.... And then when it dissolves to a full-color shot of the actual survivors and the actors coming out of Yad Vashem in Jerusalem, and laying stones on Schindler's grave.... I bawled like beaten child....

That whole movie makes me smile so hard, and shake my fist, and several other things. I love that movie. The chase in the airport made me so happy that I smiled for like two hours afterwards.

Ha, that's just funny.

BTW, I forgot to mention Bobby. This movie illustrated a real tear jerking tragedy. Killing off the hero just before he saves the day is too sad for fiction.
