Ok, I just saw it.

-------- It SUCKED.

It was way too long with way not enough action and it was way stupid.

Sorry, I was really hoping this movie was gonna be good. I'm as disappointed as you all probably are.

Too much character development for ya? Ang Lee movies usually are more thought provoking than action. Ah well I'm going to still go check it out today.

Read 3 reviews of it, all 3 lackluster...

Just got back from seeing it. Great character development, excessive yet effective use of split screen shots, hulk looked kind of cheesey but was badass when he was fighting, meh ending. Oh yeah Jennifer Connely gave me a boner.

I've heard that it is quite good, more of a psychological/emotional comicbook movie rather than an action one.

Ah well, we still have HellBoy to look out for... anyone see the Punisher teaser? Very.... crap.

Character development is a poor excuse. The movie dragged and dragged. It wasn't INTERESTING. The comic book style editing was excessive at times, unneeded. The action was good, but the acting was iffy. The fights were mostly too dark to see wtf was going on.

The midnight fanboy crowd here in Simi is usually loud and obnoxious, which makes it a great experience to see movies. Well, this movie hardly got a peep out of them, it was so boring. The most interesting thing yelled out all night was regarding the size of HULK's penis.

I'd love to be in a loud obnoxious theater. When some of my friends went to see the matrix, they were surrounded by hyper serious fanboys, one of which slapped one of them in the back of the head and told him to shut the fuck up for talking during the previews. The only entertainment I ever get from summer blockbuster type movies is yelling at the screen, and I have to wait for the rental to do that. There should be designated heckling screens at all theaters.

Could've been worse, you could've had the group of stupid potheads who thought they were a part of MST3K in the theater with you. It's bad enough when people talk during a movie, but if you're going to tell a joke, at least make sure it's funny or STFU.

Didn't like the movie at all.. Was way too long, almost fell asleep :\

I've never been overly interested in the Hulk. Not exactly what you would call a dynamic character.

I agree the moving was really boring. I mean I walked out of the theatre felling like I should have just given the guy at the counter my 9 bucks, had him kick me in the nuts, and called it a day.

I find it ironic how he tried to do the whole comic book style thing, and yet still strayed so far from the actual comic itself.

The comic book style thing was annoying, the intro was way too long and took way too long to get to the point. The script and dialogue sucked, the action was overrated, and the ending fight scene was way too dark to even tell wtf was going on. Character development? At the end, I didn't care if Hulk died or not. Only person I did care about was Jennifer Connelly, that's just cause she's hot and didn't want to see the hot chick bite it, at least not early in the movie.

It was fine to watch once, it wasn't an absoultly horrible movie I guess. It just wasn't anything special, and nothing that I'll care about if I don't see it again.

Edit: Oh yeah, I hate Ang Lee. All of the split screen crap through the whole movie was pointless and stupid, and made it a pain in the ass to watch.

Call me crazy because I liked it. It was 100 times better than Matrix. It was 200 times better than Daredevil. That was one of the worst movies of all time. It could have been better. X2 was a better movie than Hulk. How do these guys even mess up movies like this even a little? I mean, the comic has been around forever and the story has already been told. I swear that a few real comic fans coulda made the movie much better.

The only comic movie that got it right was Spiderman.

I saw the movie before it hit theaters, and previews. Definitely not as good as I expected. I'm just glad they decided to use a compgen Hulk instead of some guy dressed in a green muscle suit.

I seem to be in the minority, but I really liked it, that may have something to do with the fact that I am what is known as a Marvel zombie, but that is being cured as we speak. I enjoyed the split screen bits, the CGI hulk, the story wasn't bad, tho they didn't need to try and update the orig. My biggest problem with it was that everytime I saw JC, I kept flashing to that last main scene in Requiem for a Dream. <shudder>

Wow, I think I'm the only one who really enjoyed the comic book style editing.

The movie wasn't horrible but it wasn't great either. I found myself a little bored at times. I know they were trying to add some depth at times... but not if its uninteresting. Also, I'm usually like long movies... but this one felt too long. The father storyline was good until the end, I wasn't really sure what was going on with the last fight.

Anyways, a little disappointed. Not a bad movie but certainly not great. Jennifer Connelly definitely made the uninteresting parts more interesting. There's just something about her

I liked the editing style too... it reminded me of "Creepshow". Dig that bit with the ricocheting N-2 mine and the white outline they put around the industrial sleazeball as he got blown up...

In my local paper, the film critic said some things like, "The Hulk's CGI face can't render any emotion but rage and confusion" and "The part would have been better filled by a human actor, like The Rock". Excuse me, but rage and confusion are basically all the Hulk expresses anyway, and a man in green body-paint won't cut it these days as a realistic depiction of the character. Not as good as Spider-Man, but a helluva lot better than most comic book adaptations.

I am much more intrigued that a novel's opening weekend ("Harry Potter") outgrossed a summer blockbuster's opening weekend ("The Hulk"). When was the last time that happened?

Hulk Dogs? What the fuck? Whose idea was that? Up against the wall buddy! Some of the scenes were cool. The tank and helicopter battles looked fantastic. But overall it was long and boring. The characters were one dimensional or outright inconsistant. Yet another horrible superhero flick.

Also does anyone else really want to see a speaking hulk? He is rarely unable to speak in the four color world and yet in video the Hulk has always lost his voice.

I went in expecting a movie about mayhem and utter destruction. What I got was a movie about a sissy who liked to cry a lot. (What the hell was up with the number of single tear scenes in that movie?! Having your characters cry a little all the time does NOT give them depth.)

The movie seemed like 95% drama, 5% fighting. They needed to make it like 30% story/drama and 70% of kicking ass. As it was, they made the Hulk seem like a mute and that took away a lot of the comedy factor they could have used in the fights.

Oh, and any movie that ends with speaking their "famous line" in a foreign language automatically loses in my book. How sad. But, by then the movie was already 2 and a half hours of sadness.

How can a movie about anger be so boring?

I was sold by the movie. I thought it was great. It was just the right length too.. I hate short movies but that's just a personal preference of mine. The comic book editing was a nice touch and the story line was believable most of the times. Except for some f'ing kids pulling the fire alarm twice, I enjoyed it. They even left room for a sequel. As a avid matrix fan, I must admit that the Hulk was far more entertaining than reloaded. Thank you and have a nice day.

I saw it a few days ago and I must say I enjoy it now than I did leaving the theatre though even then I liked it quite a lot. The CG Hulk was superb, I don't care what anyone says about that. Ang Lee achieved a great feat with this one.

My only complaint it the bastard who yelled out "You can't be green" when the Hulk was running around the desert... if he was sitting next to me I would've broken his teeth.

I thought the scenes with the Hulk were awesome, especially when he is running on the side of the mountain and they are shooting rockets at him. I agree the beginning was way to long but it was interesting to compare it to the comic story.

I would put this movie up there with one of the worst I have ever seen.

There was just nothing good about it, he was not a sympathetic character, the villian sucked, there was no plot....etc

ANd to top it off it was too long, some of those scenes were just painfull to sit through. It reminded me of that awfull "Dance" scene in Matrix2.

On a side note....Daredevil kicked ass. That movie was was just the shit. I mean that frekin guy has to be the biggest pimp superhero EVER.

I mean hes blind and the only way he can see a chick is in the rain. I dont care if you look like carrot top , you are going to get some.

Id like to see any superhero top that.

DareDevil was awesome, and compared to The Hulk it blows Hulk out of the water. Hulk had basically nothing going for it other than a green guy throwing a tank. DareDevil actually had a point and good characters.

I enjoyed the Hulk. I thought it was an interesting update on the original comic book plot that stayed to true to the feeling of the original plot.

Let's face it, the original Hulk story was rather boring. Guy get irradiated and turns into a green monster that goes on a rampage.

If they had made that movie it would have been maybe an hour long with little to no dramatic impact. The true heart of the Hulk has always been Banner and his repressed anger. Anger that when released makes him the Hulk.

I think if they make a sequel there will be ton more action as they can now dispense with the backstory.

Hulk smash! Why can't puny humans leave Hulk alone!

Instead they made a 2 hour long movie with no dramatic impact. Longer does not = better.

I wasn't implying that longer = better.

The point I was making was that they fleshed out the story and therefore made it better.

I thought it had plenty of dramatic impact just the way it was, regardless of the length.

I enjoyed the Hulk more than Daredevil, myself. I thought it had enough character development, for all of the people out there who didn't know what was going on. Plus, the Stan Lee/Lou Ferrigno cameo was nice.

The whole point of the Hulk is crushing & fighting things,
not story development.

I'm surprised more haven't said anything about Jennifer Connelly
she can make a whole movie better.
