Try to track down some Fist of the North Star. It's got all the violence and gore of Ninja Scroll with a similar artistic style. Akira and Ghost in the Shell are Sci-Fi classics.
Don't watch Ninja Scroll 2, it's the biggest waste of time ever. |

I think there are a few other threads on this topic but I agree with Shokan's list. Spirited Away and Street Fighter Alpha are a couple more I'd add to that list along with Neon Genesis Evangelion though that is a series and not a film.

Wicked City, by far the best ever
Fist of the North Star, the movie (the series is a little sloppy imo) Ghost in the Shell Demon City Shinjuku MD Geist Macross movies (considered by some classics, not really my style, but make your own decision ) Poltergeist Report probably could remember other good ones if I really tried, but that is a good start |
