The hidden in Disney Movies
this thread is sort of a response to the Finding Nemo/Bruce Almighty thread posted a while back.
besides their apparent sexual innundos in their animated films back in the early nineties, i read this article that exposed all of disneys other cruel intentions. i thought it was interesting. The Darkside of Disney

They missed out on the subliminal innuendos that the animators put in such as the priest getting a boner in The LIttle Mermaid, and Alladin telling Jasmine to take off her clothes. There are so many more, but I wont spoil them all, unless someone else feels like it.

Snopes has a whole section on Disney and the company.
Here is a link to the Disney movies.

Silliness. Someone still apparently has a lot of anger about their parents splitting up. Funny how they picked disney as a target though.

i know that the Aladin one is true, the snopes site says its false but it really is true, i wouldnt belive it if i hadnt heard it with my own ears. One night me and my friend Chole decided to find out if it was true or not because she had the movie. we found the part and turned up the volume to full, and then heard it. I went nuts, the entire crowd of people in the room went nuts, the neigbours went nuts. We rewound the tape and played it over and over again and i swear to God that this is true, and its nuts

This almost goes hand in hand with the Warner Bros. cartoons being blamed for its violent content. Bugs getting chased around by a gun toting Elmer Fudd, Wile E Coyote trying to murder the old Road Runner any chance he gets.
Do kids this day and age really know the difference between reality and imaginary? I don't recall ever being affected by any of that violence and the cartoons are exactly the same as they were back when I was a child. Last edited by LittleOralAnnie; 06-17-2003 at 04:32 PM.. |

the first article. he's reading a bit too much into everything. dude needs to take a chill pill, he just has some issues. therapy could help. but on another note. Peter Pan does have parents, he just ran away. still, get over it man, i seriously doubt that any of this can have an adverse affect on children. actually, if you really want to delve into the social implications BS, one could argue that Disney is simply helping to show sympathy and support for the plight of many single parents. so there.

oh my God.
I have a very good sense of humor, so I don't get offended easily, and I can almost always tell when people are joking and when they are not. But I have a feeling that the person who wrote that article is completely serious, and henceforth, really ignorant. I haven't been so offended by something like that in a long time. That was sad.

The article was written by an idiot and he has issues, but disney started sucking (with a few exceptions) after the 80's. They try to do too much and end up diminishing the quality of some of their lines.

WTF. I guess that if you look hard enough, and you are filled with enough angst, then you can find hidden messages in just about anything. Yeah, yeah...I've known about the penis in Ariel's castle and the booby shot in The Rescuers for years now. The Retro Crush article wasn't about that. Disney has never been shy about showing some of the darker aspects of life. Life is not always a pleasant romp through a sunny meadow. I think Disney does a very good job of conveying that "You are not alone, bad things do happen and can be overcome.". I grew up on Disney, as did/do/will my kids, and if I'm twisted, it sure as hell wasn't from anything that I ever saw from Disney.
