Did anyone catch the premier of this last nite? We of course did not miss it because it stars Eddie Izzard

It was def interesting, not what I was expecting,its very dark and I'm not used to NOT laughing at Eddie.

Its interesting they got two british people to play americans (Eddie and Minnie Driver)

its also funny Eddie's son is a cross dresser hehehe

if you didnt catch it and you're interested, the pilot is being replayed on FX Saturday at 10 and Sunday at 11 pm

I will definitely be watching more episodes, but I am interested in knowing what other people thought of it....so....am I the only one that caught Eddies naked butt screwing minnie in an RV?

It's at home, on the DVR, just waiting for me to get out of work and come home to watch it. I've very excited about it - perhaps because I love Eddie Izzard and I think it will be great to see him in such a dark/twisty role.

As soon as I watch it, I'll be sure to give you my two cents. :)

The more I think about what I saw, the more I realized I LOVED it. I purposely did not read any reviews on this and all I knew was what I had seen in the previews. It is NOT what I expected at all, I was honestly shocked with how dark it is (I dont watch any of the other FX series shows)....and that quite pleases me. I only hope the subsequent episodes live up to what the pilot has set us up for.

I got in late, and saw the last 15 minutes. I really liked it though.

Thanks for the heads up about coming on again this weekend. I'll be sure to watch the whole thing.

I was the same. I love Eddie Izzard, but the thing took a bit to get started. Now I really like it. I'll continue watching it.

My SO and roomie had never seen anything Eddie Izzard before, so they didn't know why I was having trouble watching this show, haha. I really liked the show, and I'm excited to see where it goes. All I know is that all three of us agreed that this is a TV show we'll be watching every week.

My sis was just telling me about this program and she loved it too. It appears to be about a couple of "The Travelers" that must run from them due to an internal theft. Is that spelled out in the show, or merely implied?

Its actually about an entire family, Eddie plays the father and doesnt want his daughter to have to submit to an "arranged" marriage in the "clan" so he steals all their money and hits the road. Circumstances put them in a position to take up a dead couples life in "upper middle class"

I watched it & liked it - although it was a bit too dark for me in parts.

Had never seen Eddie Izzard before (that I recall, at least) but I gotta say he an interesting actor and quite attractive in an edgey way. Yeah, nice naked butt!! In fact, he carried the show IMO...not that Minnie Driver wasn't good. She seemed to slide in and out of character "accents". Guess seeing her as such a low life was hard to believe. Weirdly, I have read articles about Travelers and even met one once in N. CA. Sidebar: This CA. "Traveler" was a strange sort of rogue & true shyster, but generally fun to party with on rare occasions. And yeah, like Eddie's character...he would hustle guys on the golf course, all the time.


What else has Eddie been in that I might view? :thumbsup:

Eddie is most known for his stand up.....I HIGHLY recommend you rent Dressed to Kill (which he won 2 emmy's for), Definate Article and Glorious to watch. And dont be surprised to see in in makeup lol he's very open that he's a hetero transvestite...or what he calls an "action transvestite". Honestly, he makes me laugh more and harder than any comedian I've ever seen...but then I have a thing for british comedy.

As far as his movies go, I loved his portrayal of Charlie Chaplin in The Cats Meow (with Kirsten Dunst). He was in My Super Ex Girlfriend last summer but I havent seen it yet (WAY behind on movie rentals lol)

Tivo'd and as of now unwatched.

I cannot second that recommendation enough. Dressed to Kill is so unbelievably funny - I can't imagine anyone watching it and not absolutely loving it. :)

Now, as for The Riches. Great performance so far by Mr. Izzard. As for Minnie Driver - I don't know if it was the slow start or just the fact that I'm not a huge fan, but I had a hard time liking her character. But, it was just the pilot, so I'll see how it goes next week. It's an interesting story, to say the least, I'm just curious as to how it will all develop.

I don't know, I saw quite a bit of Izzard in Wayne. Like most though, I'm not a fan of Minnie Driver--and that godawful occasional deep southern accent--and I really don't see how the drug angle adds anything to the show of any value, but the show is young and the pilot was solid.

I think--from what I've read, anyway--that there are only 6 episodes filmed and in the can. I'd sure like this one to find an audience and stick around.

I agree Im not a big Minnie Driver fan, but I just died laughing at a preview of one of the upcoming episodes with her her shuffling accross the street in dress and hells saying "I made you some cookies, can I have some drugs?"

For anyone that is as excited for the 2nd season as I am, its coming back March 18th....the seven epi's that were done before the writers strike

Season 2 premeired last night, just watching it now, fuckin hate not getting FX here, but torrents away......

I have it on the DVR, I couldnt stay up that late lol I will get to watch it today!!!

Great season so far, two episodes in and I'm loving it. Last night's was great, I won't spoil anything just in case Shani still hasn't seen it, but yeah it's a goodie.

Ok.....Im done watching.....great episode!!!! I loved when Wayne showed up to save the day!!!

I was glad Wayne showed up too, Cael was getting fucked up, they kept the suspense up until the end on that one. Can't wait to see what Dale has cooked up to screw Wayne and the deal with Hugh, even though he's in jail, he still seems to have a plan.

I dont think Dale's in jail? I think he was visiting someone there.

What I LOVED (from the first epi of this season) was when Sam produced the money they thought they'd lost lol

Oh he was visiting someone, I thought he was on the other side of the glass, I was a bit inebriated by the end of the ep so I probably saw things through foggy eyes haha.

Tha was hilarious when Sam pulled out the money, he's a sharp little bugger.

Nana deciding to go was a nice twist as well, I enjoy her character, especially getting his in ep 2, too funny.

oh Nina makes me laugh, she's so funny, she's prob (next to wayne) my favorite character
