DVDs purchased but not viewed ... help

I can't be the only one with this problem.
Sometimes I purchase a DVD but then leave it on my shelf because I'm never in the mood to watch the film. Sometimes I forget why I bought it to begin with.

If you've seen any of them could you please tell me if you think it's worth watching? Thanks.

American Me (Edward James Olmos) - I was told this was a good movie but I never got around to watching it
Yi Yi - it had great reviews on the box.
Pi - Recommended by a friend
Coffee and Cigarettes I usually like Jarmusch's films but I just haven't been in the mood
Memoirs of a Geisha - I don't know a thing about the story and haven't read the novel - is this just an overbudgeted Hollywood drama or is it worth sitting through?
Stella - I was trying to buy Stella Dallas (don't laugh) online but accidentally bought this.
White Chicks - normally the Wayans brothers make me laugh but I couldn't make it through more than 20 minutes of this creepy film. It wasn't even funny. Should I give it another chance?
Incident at Loch Ness - Werner Herzog is what drew me in - but it wasn't very engaging for the first 30 min - is it really worth watching?
Chaos - it had a lot of quotes and exclamation marks on the cover.
Kitchen Stories - a Swedish comedy.

Any input is appreciated. And please feel free to post your own list, if you have one.

White chicks is not worth your time. In fact, you should consider burning the DVD to eliminate evidence of you ever purchasing it.

That's what I thought, Siege. Thanks. Into the dumpster it goes .... (it doesn't even deserve recycling from what I saw)

One more:
Swing Kids - OK. A friend lent me this film... I still have it 8 months later and haven't watched it.

I'm definitely in the same category as you. I probably have literally over a hundred movies that I've bought and never watched. And, one of the movies I have that falls under that category is Pi. Skimming through your list, it seems like the only one that I've heard really good things about (if you're into one of those movies that plays with your mind).

And I agree with the previous two posters about just tossing out white chicks. I never saw it, but I have heard nothing but awful things about it.

I definitely recommend watching Swing Kids - I loved this movie!!! If even you don't rant and rave about it like myself, you still won't feel like you've wasted your time by watching it. I guarantee you'll find it entertaining at the very least!

American Me - good drama, but will seem dated

Stella - the least funny comedy troupe ever

White Chicks - they should have stopped at I'm Gonna Get You Sucka

Memoirs of a Geisha - not bad, interesting look at pre WWII Japanese culture

PI - interesting movie with a horrible ending, but not one I'd wanna watch more than once.

Memoirs of a geisha is a good movie.
White chicks is horrid i dunno why people like that crap. Sell it on ebay.

Dont know anything about the rest really. Personaly i use netflix Rent a ton of movies with it if i put the dvd in and its dumb the first few min i just shut it right back off and stick it back in the mail. No loss no big deal. If the movie is great I buy the dvd to have a copy around for when i feel like watching it again. I rent tons and tons of movies through netflix and in all honesty... 90% of the movies people seem to like or get good reviews are just pure trash. not worth watching. I suggest you try netflix out if you have a problem buying dvds and not enjoying or even bothering to watch them. If you rent one and cant get yourself to watch it its no big deal and you know you dont want the dvd.

Incident at Loch Ness ahahahaha this is funny as hell to me....I WISH I owned it, if you watch it and dont like it I will take it off your hands for you hehehe

note....its not a documentary....its a mockumentary hehehehe you have to get into where the mission "starts to go wrong" for it to be funny

City of God is the only DVD I own that I have not yet had time to see. The hundreds of other DVDs I own have been seen so many times I can recite the dialogue by memory.

I've seen Stella at least a dozen times...I never realized it was supposed to be funny. Is it because it has Bette Midler and a very young Ben Stiller in it?

If you like sappy chick flicks (which I rarely do), then this movie is for you.
I don't know why I loved it so much..but I do.
