I'm loving season two. It's so intense. It's kind of sad though that they have so many story lines now, they can only fit about half of them into each episode. Anyone else find Nathan Petrelli's "face issues" really weird? I'm not sure what to make of it just yet..

I was begining to worry about this show because of the stupid Hiro plot line, but last night was awesome. I think Petrelli's alter ego face is like that becaude of the blast last season.

ratbastid 10-23-2007 06:07 AM

I'm totally digging Muscle-Mimic Girl!

I was thinking the same thing, but this raises another question. Why can no one else see his burns? Does he heal also now?

chrisparkinson 10-25-2007 11:51 PM

i'm pretty sure that his scarred "self" is all in his own head. guilt from what almost happened, for what he was almost responsible for. that's why the nightmare matt's dad put him in had him face off against that version of himself.
i'm thinking we'll see a little bit more of nathan's delusions, at least until peter shows up and tells people he's alive.

anyone else think West is mainly a douche?
i'm glad matt can now project thoughts into other people. it'll make waking molly up a whole lot easier

Agree with your thoughts on Big Petrelli. It isn't a dual personality thing like the blonde chic. It is all in his head.

Which one is Wes? Is that the Irish mob leader?

ratbastid 10-26-2007 05:21 AM

I can't wait to see the Parkman vs. Parkman nightmare showdown!

My mind is complete in thought, yet it ponders selflessly without want.

I have nothing much else to add at this point, ...

except, perhaps. --

My wife and I have been trying to figure who that chic is?^^

A Gorgeous Blonde.

(I believe it is Kirsten Bell, but her fame eludes me...)

Rekna 10-26-2007 03:42 PM

I'm really growing tired of the Hiro plot.

yes. it is and she was really popular on Veronica Mars( a tv show that is still running I believe. never watched it though). and the 2006 horror called Pulse.

she was also on a Maxim cover just before that movie. I hope she can do more than just be annoying on this show! i want some smart and funny characters!! no more of these pussies or god lovers. it's getting repetitive as hell.

QuasiMondo 10-29-2007 06:10 PM

Finally, we get to the plot of season 2! No more storylines that wander about aimlessly!

And I thought Hiro would be stronger than that, but I guess he's only human, even if he can bend time.

The show Veronica Mars was canceled after the third season because CW thought they could use more stupid reality tv shows.

I did like her electric light saber move at the bar so hopefully we can see a bit more of her powers.

Peter vs. Elle who is going to win the fight?

I don't think we know enough about Elle to answer that question yet. Who's her dad, does he (do they) work for "The Company", does she have any additional powers?

As for Hiro and Kensei, why can't Hiro just go back in time and not kiss the girl?? Wouldn't that fix his current problem?

Well, regardless of what powers she has, Peter will have them too. So I think it's safe to say that peter will win most fights.

Perhaps that kiss is part of history as well? You can never be sure about these things. Maybe this is how Kensei is able to destroy all the guns (ie: he gets close to whitebeard).

shoegirl 10-30-2007 04:06 PM

It's true that Peter will get them, so I suppose it's a matter of how long it would take him to master them.

And I like that theory, I'd never thought of it that way before. :)

I will channel Dark Helmet here and say that evil will win because good is dumb. Peter needs to be more creative when kicking a dude like Slyer's ass.

No question Hiro's acting like a moron.

I was very annoyed with last week's episode. I'm DONE with the History Hiro story line, and I'm not particularly interested in the Mexican Wonder Twins, either.

You don't looooove Majjja and Aleehandrrrro? Wonder Twin powers, activate! Form of: Get the hell off my TV!

I spent all last season shrieking with fangirl glee at the TV over Hiro, and now I'm done with it. Never thought I'd see the day when I'd be glad Hiro wasn't part of the mix that episode. Get him back to present-day and to fine-tuning his power, instead of running around saying "oh no, I break history!" Bleh. His lost-love storyline with Charlie was one of the sweetest and saddest things I'd ever seen, but this whole Japanese princess/drunken anti-hero/mopey Hiro is just too much for me. I hate that they've got these gorgeous intricate characters like Ambiguously Bad Daddy Bennett (love love love!) and Seriously BAD DADDY Parkman but then they drop the ball on a character who was absolutely amazing last season. Hiro was the reason I got hooked on the show-- my sister said she knew the minute they introduced him that I'd be a squeeing little addict-- and now I could care less if I watch his storyline anymore. Bring back your A-game, writers!

Fremen 11-04-2007 10:03 PM

It seems to me that Peter has *already* met Elle, and absorbed her powers.
He had electricity shoot out of his hands in the cargo carrier when he was handcuffed inside, iirc.

She may be the one that shipped him.

Siege 11-05-2007 05:21 PM

Spoiler: Peter does have Elie's powers, as you see him shoot adam with electricity

Today's episode totally kicked ass, I can't wait for next week. Except for the fact that they'll probably ruin it by adding in the Twin powered wonders.

I know Kensei has healing powers, but I didn't know he could stay young for 200-300 years?

Well, that's what healing powers to an extreme would do theoretically. We get old because eventually the number of cells produced < number of cells that die.

So if his cells are constantly regenerating/replacing themselves, it would make sense that he doesn't get old.

Willravel 11-06-2007 04:20 PM

Don't tell anyone, but Adam is actually Sark... and he might have a Rambaldi device!

jusolson00 11-06-2007 04:39 PM

Well as far as the last episode goes, I loved most of it,,, and tolerated a few bits of it. Mostly I was growing very tired of the Hiro story and his whineing ways. But he was redeemed in my eyes with his sword fight with "adam" and then at the end with his interaction with Ando. I loved seeing them together again and hiro's face when he learned of his father. It will be interesting to see how that changes him and his attitude. So far I am liking the twist with Adam turning out to be the Kensi guy... didn't see that coming.... Loved the diaglouge between Nathen and Mohinder's boss dude... Nathen - "Who is Adam?".... other dude - " Adam is complicated" Nathen - "So uncomplicated it".
Also any ideas as to some of the other older generations powers that we don't know about? That newspaper clipping about snow in Florida and that guy saying it could have easily read Tsunami hits east coast... does this mean that somebody had power over weather? hmmm... maybe i'm reading too much into that. But I'm looking foward to next weeks episode to find out what happened after the bomb.... I don't know about the rest of you, but in some weird warped sense, I'm rooting for sylars powerfull return!

Anybody else think HRG has Spoiler: the same powers as Adam now? -- He healed and came back to life like Adam did in the 16th Century, if I'm not mistaken.

If so, then Nathan does too.

Am I crazy or are the timelines not lined up properly? The order of events as presented were Kaito Nakamura killed, then Adam escaped. If he escaped first, then Peter and Adam were free by episode one's murder of Kaito Nakamura... which suggests that it's possible all of the independent stories may not be happening simultaneously. I guess I should have figured this out with Nathan being healed in the first ep and then Adam healing him last time. It's all a bit confusing... I may need to make a big room with yarn and pictures a la Hiro to figure it all out. And I'll need a sword.

ratbastid 11-20-2007 01:32 PM

You'll definitely need a sword. But not to cut through this one--it's simple.

Peter sprung Adam in the episode named, you'll remember, "Four Months Ago"--after he exploded and was recovered by the company and given weeks worth of drugs. Peter was then hunted down, and shipped to Ireland by the Hatian Sensation, which is where Seasion 2 begins. Adam's killing spree starts immediately after that. Now (by which I mean "now"), Adam's in Ireland reminiscing with Peter.

Also: when you've got time travelers like Hiro and Peter around, there's no need to have the timeline be linear. Although in this case, it is.

Willravel 11-20-2007 01:53 PM

I deserve to be confused for playing Desktop Tower Defense during the past few episodes.

Actually, the whole thing really is simple. Thanks for esplainin!

Bearing all that in mind... we're led to assume that Peter and Adam are allied considering that he and Peter met up again when he regained his memory by healing (which was badass). I wonder if Peter is playing a part in Adam's vendetta...

fresnelly 11-20-2007 07:49 PM

So was Glasses-Man cured using a serum derived from Adam or Claire's dna? Could this serum be a hedge against the coming virus?

Is Adam's name a play on the story of Adam and Eve? Who's the Eve in this arc? Claire?

Lokus 11-21-2007 05:43 PM

It looks like it's just their blood. Apparently even a small amount can heal someone and bring them back from the dead. From this, it would make sense that they would also live forever. Just a small amount of blood heals a huge amount of damage so maybe the blood is replicating itself or directing the other cells. I'm probably looking into this too much plus I doubt the writers want to make it possible for other people to be immortal just because they got some blood.

Fremen 11-21-2007 09:09 PM

I guess I missed when HRG got the blood.

Sun Tzu 11-24-2007 12:32 AM

Does anyone know if the fact there are only two episodes left is a result of the writers strike? The show is going to have to rush things to wrap it up I wonder how easy that will be to notice.

analog 11-24-2007 01:55 AM

I just finished watching all the episodes in a row over the last couple of days.

Wow.

Why didn't I start watching sooner?

I agree with a lot of you that Hiro started wearing thin with his future self, but I don't think that was a fault. We weren't really supposed to like "future Hiro". He was a totally different guy, with different ideals and agendas, etc.

I also agree that the brother/sister team (who are Dominican, btw, not Mexican) is pretty much totally lame. I'll grant you that it makes for a pretty interesting "oh my God, what will Sylar do with THIS power" kind of plot line, and he needs to have a legitimate story for getting back to New York (not just "ok i'm here in NY now, I drove up with some lame characters no one cares about). Still, I think they've put way too much screen time into them because they're just really not that interesting. I think it's more about keeping Sylar on everyone's minds and the only way to do that is more scenes with the "nobody gives a shit about your character arc" sibling combo.

Elle is massively hot and totally sociopathic. She's awesome. I hope her character sticks around for a bit.

And the idea that Adam is like 400 years old makes perfect sense. If your body can heal by regenerating cells, that means no cell death. No cell death means nothing breaks down, weakens, or gets old. The cells would continually replenish. They could be immortal, really.

Yeah, she's a GREAT character. My prediction is that she'll spring HRG (a.k.a. Bennett, but he'll always be HRG to me) and go to work with him against daddy.

Which means Claire is too. Question is whether HRG and Nathan inherited those traits when they were infused with Claire and Peter's blood.

I hope not, because that would set an odd precedent... gaining someone's powers, which are supposedly genetic in origin, simply by getting some of their blood. If they do go in that direction, though, it'll be interesting to see how else they leverage such a thing.
