Free Indie Zombie Movie Here

I love zombie movies...it's a sickness of mine.

So I found this free one that is amazing considering it was made on a $3000 budget. It's called "The Day They Came Back". It recieved great reviews at sundance. If you would like to watch there is a link below. Its not a full length movie, just a short.Tell me what you think when your done watching.

i think that its hard to make a good movie for $3000. While the makeup and body part props were very good, low budget or not, the acting was god-awful, and the plot was a jumbled mess which did little to make me care about anything that was happening to the people trying to survive.

But in all fairness, I felt the same way about Land of the Dead, although I still think some of the social commentary in that movie was genius. And as a final note, CGI is the worst thing to ever happen to zombie flicks.

I wouldnt say it's the worst thing. Some damn cool things could be done with CGI for missing limbs, wounds that makeup cant do, etc. Its just that sometimes it's used dumb... okay most of the time...

I don't know. I've seen guys ike Rick Baker and Tom Savini do some really amazing (and disgusting) makeup jobs in my time, and I have yet to see a CGI gore effect come anywhere near what they have accomplished with just corn syrup and styrofome. If you have an example of CGI gore that can match the finale of Day of the Dead, I would love to see it.

Nikilidstrom: Check out Shaun of the Dead. There is quite a bit of CGI in that movie, but it is quite subtle, and seen as a compliment to make up and prosthetics, rather than as a replacement. There is a special feature on the DVD showing pre- and post-cgi shot comparisons.

But I agree - obvious/over done CGI is appalling.

Own it, and the only CGI that works well in that film is the giant hole in the grocery store clerk, although I do love the movie itself.
