New trailer for the Da Vinci Code

I did a search and I saw a few threads for the book but none of the movie....

New trailer for the Da Vinci Code

My reaction to the trailers to-date is that like the casting appears to be very good. The characters really do spring to life. Tom Hanks, Alfred Molina, Paul Bettany, Ian McKellen, Jean Reno ... excellent ensemble. Should be a very entertaining movie. I'm looking forward to it.

The other thought I had is that my concern last year would be that the producers would downplay the controversial aspects of the book to appease religious interests. I'm glad to see they don't appear to have.

It's interesting that Ian McKellen gets to play Teabing. I remember him talking about defacing Gideon bibles in hotels - ripping out the page in Leviticus which condemns homosexuality. He probably relishes the role.

Well, it's a well-made trailer at least -- gave me chills before I really knew what was going on. I think I might have to re-read the book because I don't remember half the drama that trailer had.. racing cars through cities? What? I hope they didn't overdramatize the book..

I remember being weary of the Tom Hanks casting - at the time, I just couldn't picture him as Langdon. But, after seeing the trailer - with him trimming down a bit and his hair longer than usual, it works for me. And, of course, I cannot wait to see Ian McKellen as Teabing - such great casting!

Looks like fun. The only one I feel bad for, is the sublime Audrey Tatou, who gets to play the stupidest brilliant cryptographer in literary history.

Well, the direction and acting look good, as can be expected from Tom Hanks, IanMcKellen and Ron Howard. The story...well, looks just as bad as the book. It's a shame such talent isn't being used for a better movie. I also wish they hadn't bastardized Clint Mansell's music in the beginning of the trailer, but oh well. Maybe I'll rent it for the pretty scenery...that one building looked pretty neat.
