How would you rate them?

My favourite episode is Beyond for its clever and very cool ideas and effects.

I loved the style of Detective Story. It had a perfect film noir sense to it; but they crammed what should have been a full length movie into 10 minutes.

A Kid's Story was also high up on my list.

I agree, I really liked beyond, and I would have rated it even higher if it had been a little more intangled in the plot of the Matrix and not just the world of the matrix.

The style of Detective story was cool, but I think the story lacked any substance. If it had been given more time I think it could have told a very good story.

I really liked the The Second Renaissance Parts 1 & 2 & Final Flight of the Osiris but after that i forgot which was which.
I am not much of a fan of Anime but a few of them were pretty cool.

#1 A Detective Story
Beautiful artwork, extremely stylised and I loved how the plot was caried as a 1930's film noir detective story, was absolutely brilliant.

#2 The Second Renaissance Part II
Insanely interesting and insanely shocking, I woudn't put it past us humans to do the foolish things we did in this short (ie blacken the skies)

#3 The Second Renaissance Part I
A great precursor of the Matrix universe, excellent artwork.

#4 Beyond
Novel concept, one I had always wondered about as no system in the world is 100% fool-proof.

#5 Final Flight of the Osiris
A great lead into the lacklustre Enter the Matrix and the brilliant Reloaded.

#6 Kid's Story
It was interesting to see a shortfilm based on this character, especially since in Revolutions he is supposed to have a HUGE and IMPORTANT role, the rough artwork was very cool, suited the whole chase craziness.

#7 Program
Was ok, liked the idea of them fighting in a feudal Japan but it would've been better had the characters actually been from Feudal Japan, in the end this short seemed to lack any point.

#8 World Record
Had a nice ending "Freee" but other than that I disliked it very much, never been a fan of the Aeon Flux style artwork.

#9 Matriculated
As with Wolrd Record I'm not a fan of this artwork, the ideas were trippy and ultimately pointless, if you want the machines to fight for you, do it by force, I mean you shoot up a lobby in the Matrix full of innocent guards and that is ok but it turns into a moral decision when you want to alter a machines programming? Makes no sense.

i liked "Final Flight of the Osiris" only because, it being computer animated, it wasn't quite as visually assaulting (to me) as some of the other ones

I thought they were all excellent! If anything, my least favorite was the Second Renaissance Parts 1 & 2.

Matriculated was probabaly my least favorite. It went on for too long, and seemed to be all flash, no substance.
I REALLY enjoyed Kid's Story....cool ending there....
I enjoyed the concept of World Record (breaking out of the Matrix of one's own will) but was kinda let down.

One thing I found interesting throughout was each animator's perspective on how the Agents look. Some cool stuff.

In the end, I wish there were more than just nine, and I REALLY wish they had some more that tied directly into the films and game (how about a short about Ghost?)

If anything, I feel that the Matrix universe definately needs some novels to expand itself. Anyone else agree?

nice CG. as with Final Fantasy, easy to forget you're not watching real people.
