Good one Clavus! :D

Well got a littel quicky tribute but what the hell its a tribute...

next week: Solid snake in a pyjamas

clavus 04-19-2005 07:53 AM

Yeeeeeeeeeee haaaaaaaaaaaaaw! I love the dog. His eyes are great.

Nancy, we share our Play-Doh. It belongs to me, Mrs. clavus, clavus Jr. and clavus Jr. Jr.

vermin 04-19-2005 06:57 PM

Since the title of this activity is "dogs" (plural), I guess there should be at least two dogs in this pic. Oh, well. This is my Golden Retriever/Irish Setter/Spaniel mutt, Lucy. I was planning to do this in water colors, but then didn't.

P.S. This is where I discovered that drawing big, scanning big, coloring, and THEN shrinking is easier than drawing tiny, scanning 1:1, and trying to color small. Hooda thunkit?

Suggestion for next week: Birds

Bad? Play-doh is YUMMY! All salty...Mmmm...Damn, i need some potato chips now.

la petite moi 04-19-2005 07:03 PM

Cute, Vermin! I don't have a dog picture because I've tried and failed, but what about cats?!

PS: What about an "artistic" dog photo?

clavus 04-19-2005 08:25 PM

Dog's are easy. Just draw a cat, then shrink the brain and erase the independent look on its face.

Here's a semi-artistic perspective photo on "Dog"- he's nwlinkvxd's dumb dog.

Next Week: CATS.

doodlebird 04-20-2005 02:12 PM

vermin, that's a nice drawing.
are you not feeling suitably sick and twisted today?
(and i mean that in the best way possible of course)

GoldenOuroboros 04-20-2005 06:11 PM

I'm with doodlebird.. Vermin.. you feeling ok? :p

Dizzet the motion blur is excellent :D Nancy I love the look on your dogs face, so cheesy xD Doodle bird, do we ever give consideration to the hotdogs friends? Or even it's family >_< La petite moi, heh.. scruffy ^_^

Yikes, yeah, there is, in his case. nwlinkvxd came to the comclusion that he must be retarded due to inbreeding. They have TRIED to train him, but he is untrainable. And he barks loudly at EVERYTHING.

Dizzet 04-20-2005 10:09 PM

Dogs can also be retarded if it was the weak one of the breed( mostly they die) but if they survive, then it have starved and the brain gets fucked up... Wich in my case i have such a dog:p

Teehee thanks! :D
My dad liked it for the same reason and insisted that I made some "to - from" cards to him which he put on all his christmas presents to his friends/family

I think this is one of the best weekly activities we've had so far - everyone's work is damn great

K-Wise 04-21-2005 01:27 AM

^ I can agree with that! :)

Ahaha aww. I have one completely untrainable dog..he's such a sweetheart though but he's dumb ass dirt really. I thought you meant dumb as in worthless dumb not stupid dumb :D. Hee hee at the loud barking..I have a corgi..you don't know an annoying bark until you hear a corgi's loud yelp. Used to drive our old neighbors up the wall.

Asta!! :D

And we're back.
I'll go ahead and second Nancy for Dad as next week's theme.
That's an awsome sketch, vermin, and those are some seriously pesky pups you have there, Nancy, in a sort of a record company rep sort of banal evil sort of way. Cute, but evil.

Here's my first, with a tip of the hat to Floyd...

Thanks, Nancy. Wolves they are. I was going for Northwest Coast Indian art.

Wolves are dogs too, though. Even this far from the great white north, you get the occasional Wolf/Husky hybrid. In fact, Canis Domesticus is supposedly derived from crossbreeding of wolves and jackals. I know my Thor puppy (a Norwegian Elkhound) looks like a wolf, but surely behaves like a jackal sometimes. (And, strangely enough, is frightened to death of thunder. Go figure.)

doodlebird 04-21-2005 08:00 AM

dizzet - that last dog is awesome.

can you tell us how you got those painterly effects from illustrator?

Giant Hamburger 04-21-2005 08:09 AM

My dogs are tired.

Giant Hamburger 04-21-2005 09:27 PM

I envy the dog's ability to sleep anywhere at anytime during anything.

next week: anything you want

clavus 04-21-2005 09:42 PM

Tophat, do you create your art from scratch? If so, your versatility and skill blow me away. If not, your sense of design and composition is still pretty goddamn fantastic.

Sometimes from scratch, sometimes not. Ususally I retool something I have laying around. I did the Indian wolf for a beer label a couple of years ago, and worked it into that one, with the cartoon sheep made up on the fly. The other one I did as a CD case insert for a mix CD called Howl your Delusions at the moon. I believe I found the Poodle silhouette somewhere and reworked the mouth, and the wolf, if memory serves, I found a picture of a coyote howling and traced it with bezier curves. The lesbians from a few weeks ago was pure scratch, though, so it depends.

Scratch or no, thanks for the kind words. Your darn impressive yourself. (Heck, everybody who regularly posts here really impresses me.)

Fly 04-23-2005 05:33 AM

you guys are awesome..............great fuckin' work all around
