First, I scanned flowers, then played with the image a bit:

tecoyah 04-09-2005 12:37 PM

Absofreakinlutely beautificationized.........You are incredible Dawg

d3cemberist 04-09-2005 12:38 PM

Thanks! I'll add more as I do them-this is really fun!

SiN 04-09-2005 01:26 PM

in-fucking-credible!

seriously. I've long been a big fan of flowers in art, and i'm a big ng fan.

put the 2 together, and it's like magic :)

Willravel 04-09-2005 02:08 PM

The first one overwhelmed me. I'll have to compose myself and come back to it later. Ther one in post 4 is mezmorizing. I can't stop looking at it. You have true talent. Would you mind if I made the art in post 4 the desktop of my computer?

maleficent 04-09-2005 02:14 PM

Cool stuff... is the second image what the daffodils looked like originally?

and it will remain so unless Dawg tells me otherwise....so there

yes, that's the original scan (I posted that one first, but it came up second)
Use them as you please for personal use-I have no problem with that-art is to be enjoyed and I am more than happy you all are enjoying mine so much.
Thank you! :icare:

I just had a thought-these were saved for web, so they are very lightweight and may be pixellated. If you would like a TIFF version that's better quality, PM me with an email address that can handle heavy attachments and I will send it. This is for TFP'ers only. All else, $10.

Willravel 04-09-2005 06:13 PM

Much thanks!! Your talent is matched by your grace. I'll enjoy this whenever I am at my computer, which is quite often I must admit.

amonkie 04-10-2005 08:25 AM

Absolutely gorgeous, ngdawg! I love that the originals are last, it helps to get the full effect of your artistic manipulations.

RickB 04-13-2005 10:54 AM

Wow! These are wonderful! Did you do this with Photoshop or something else?

ngdawg 04-13-2005 11:59 AM

I used Photshop and a plug-in called Xero. Xero has a filter called 'titanium', which was the first thing I did to these before going further.

NoSoupForYou 04-13-2005 01:56 PM

i really like that last one...nice work man

ShaniFaye 04-13-2005 02:08 PM

I'd love to see what you could do with tulips

Those pics are beautiful girl :)

greeneyes 04-13-2005 06:38 PM

The last one is my favorite. Beautiful work, ng. :)

Great work, ngdawg! Absolutely beautiful.

K-Wise 04-18-2005 07:12 PM

Wow. These are really awesome. Fantastic work Ngdawg!

Asta!!

ngdawg 04-18-2005 08:18 PM

same mums

It never ceases to amaze me that I simply cannot use the same series of steps from one item to another and expect to achieve similar results. The mums are very hard to pinpoint-I couldn't do anything to them that I did to the daffodils. More to come....

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v349/ngdawg/mums4.jpg

ngdawg 04-18-2005 08:21 PM

Oh! Maybe I should clear up the thread title! I was in chat, remarking that I was getting daffodil juice all over the scanner to which Tecoyah replied, 'There is such a thing as being TOO creative'. :)

SiN 04-19-2005 10:03 AM

ng - i can't stop staring at those last pink mums ... they're haunting.

love it! :icare:

ngdawg 04-21-2005 11:54 AM

I like works that could be inspiring in ways unexpected and now I am really pumped to see what else you've got :) Seriously ng, stuff like that last one is like a spark plug to me. What else have you got?

kramus 05-08-2005 06:39 AM

I do know that #32 has depths and levels to it that could be gone into for a long time.

muttonglutton 05-08-2005 12:06 PM

Wow, these are so cool.

I should install photoshop, it's been a number of years. And then, I should dearly hope that I can come up with anything even a tenth as good as these.

Amazing!

tecoyah 05-21-2005 01:24 PM

This is THE most amazing flower picture I've ever cast my eyes on!

The dolls kinda freak me out when I look at them...

And is that a silhouette of an eye I see in the roses pic?

I don't impress myself very often. While I'm pleased with results, once I'm done, they're done and I move on. I truly do appreciate everyone who has complimented and I am very grateful to those that have ordered things. That being said, I have, this one time at least, impressed myself. I just printed this out and said DAY-UM. Think I got a keeper here:

kramus 07-02-2005 08:10 PM

This one is really cool ng. I like that depending on how you want to look at it, it is sensual, or full of demons, or of angels, or ...

ngdawg 07-02-2005 10:13 PM

Georgia o'Keefe gone mad, perhaps... ;)

tecoyah 07-03-2005 05:14 AM

I have a new desktop......thanx Dawg

ngdawg 07-03-2005 08:32 AM

Keep telling y'all-these are web-based and pixellated! Gotta ask for the original and I will gladly send it :D

New Scanner!

This a "Little Lost Baby" doll made by Ideal in 1968. She has 3 faces, sleeping, smiling and crying and originally would make corresponding sounds with each face. She is one of several dolls I got from an estate sale.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...tsleepAweb.jpg

ngdawg 09-15-2005 02:03 PM

Chatty Cathy from the same estate sale(I got loads and loads of old dolls from the guy for $150!)

Oh my god, that brings back terrible memories of a doll I had as a child that scared the shit out of me...why I didn't just throw it away I'll never know.

I love your work ng!!!

i love the idea. a twist on warhol.

request - a revamp on Warhol's Marilyns, but Ng's instead? and a lot of them, all different expressions.

Mantus 10-19-2005 08:26 PM

ngdawg, those are so cool, keep playing around! Love the Chatty Cathy pic.

Tusko 10-30-2005 01:22 PM

i'm really not one for photomanips, or "photoshop art" but since scanning the flowers themself is more like hard or found art, i dig it.

Today I went on a leaf hunt. Most have blight since we got no rain then got inundated, but found a few usable ones. Here's the original scan and its manipulation:
