Help me please!!!
i dont know much about religion and i want to use that as a theme for a series of drawings in my advanced drawing class...this is our final project....a series of at least 5 drawings based on a theme....i want to use the angel gabriel and st. Catherine of Bologna(patron st. of artists) as the main focus....can anyone help me out w/any cool ideas or any info?

I found this on a catholic web site:
Scripture, supplemented by Jewish and Christian tradition, suggest that there are nine orders of angels in the hierarchy of heaven: Seraphim Cherubim Throne Dominations Principalities Powers Archangels Angels You could draw five different types of angels. You could look up each type of angel and draw out what you think they might look like. Just a thought :D |

I read in a few places Archangel Gabriel was rumored to be the sole "female" archangel. So that in itself might give you some ideas as to how you'd want to portray Gabriel. This was a quick drawing I did a while ago of Gabriel, and because of what I had read, I tried to make Gabriel look ambiguous rather than just choose a gender. Goodluck!

quite the lovely drawing, things are coming along well... I have about seven sketches done, I will be starting the drawings this weekend :)
