First shot at PSP 8
1 Attachment(s)
Just recently put PSP 8 on my computer. Here's my first attempt at creating something with the software. I don't really like the way the planet's edge turned out, but for a first attempt it looks decent.

Nice view, mire. Looks good to me.
Have you used an earlier version of PSP before? |
A long time ago, I think it was PSP 4 or 5 on my computer, but that was years ago. The thing I don't like about the edge is you can't see any of the planet's atmosphere.

Well, that's alright, it's something to remember in the future. ;)
The thing I like was the lens-flare effect from the sun's rays. |
just keep on messing with it, mirevolver.
the more you mess, the more you master the power of the software. save that file & look back at it a year from now. i'm not a huge fan of lens flare, but it works for you here. lens flare can occasionally be used well. but so often it's used in a laughable manner. what i mean is, when everyone first discovers lens flares, it's like ooooooh! lookie! lens flare!!! it's one of the most abused filters ever. and most veterans will call most people a n00b for using it. but it can be used appropriately. in your case, you did alright with it. it makes sense with what you did. |
Right, I reserve the lens flare for eclipse or near-eclipse images. Otherwise it just seems to be overkill.

Nice stuff. Excellent first try! :thumbsup: |
Lewis is right on. If the planet is still on its own layer, you can create an atmoshere very easily...

Cool! :thumbsup::thumbsup:
