Very nice. I like the relection in the wood. Gives a sense of texture to the wood

Hey Cheers!

The wood grain is an inbuilt effect or whatever you call it, i had other versions that i'd done manually, but they were too heavy going for my computer to open. I didn't know if you could do and auto reflect in illustrator so i did it manually. I much prefer doing this stuff the long way anyhow.

wow! that's excellent. you have good reason to be proud. post more if you feel like it. i've never been able to get past flat colors. not because i tried and failed, i've just never tried. this might be the impetus for me to start. maybe.

again, nice work.

I'm beyond impressed. I can't even make a damn square in Illustrator and you've made this? So impressive!

Do you give private lessons?

A colleague of mine would like to know how you made the white lines on the box and the reflection on the table?

I think it took about a week. It was different times of day so the light source changed alot - theres alot of licence going on.

The highlights are just blocks of colour with gradient. You have white as the base colour, then select the colour of the object that you're highlighting to fade into.

The reflection uses similar principals - you start with the brown of the varnish and fade to the same brown but with green mixed in.

Private lessons? hmmm... depends who's asking...

very nice, dobster! good job w/the lighting, shadows, color choices, reflection... i would have loved to have seen your own hand crafted version of the wood surface, but understand your reason for abandoning it. interesting perspective...

i'm gonna go fold a piece of paper like that now!
