Coupla new pieces

Just a couple new sketches I've done recently. I should have 5+ coming up in the next coupla days that I'm really excited about. I'll be sure to post them as soon as they're ready. But for now, I've only got these two:

This is just a simple pencil sketch...another tribute to the Titty Board:

A tattoo design done by request...since this is a custom design, it's not currently available for use by anyone else (this may change if she doesn't like this design):

I'll be curious to know what everyone thinks.

i think i should get another tattoo ... and my parents will freak (again) and it'll all be YOUR FAULT DUDE!

i like the work :)

matteo101 08-08-2004 11:26 PM

Beautiful work Majik as always. I really love your art. The tattoo design is awesome, i really love the colouring, and the design of the wings.

ARTelevision 08-08-2004 11:42 PM

The pencil sketch is perfection...

I love to see your softer touches.
...highly sensual.
Thanks man!

majik_6 08-09-2004 06:58 AM

apeman: go for it! more ink is ALWAYS a good idea. :) /peer pressure

matteo101: Thanks! I really enjoy creating the tattoo-style work. I'm currently looking for some really good pictures of the traditional four elements for another piece I'm in the planning stages of. ;)

ART: As always, I'm humbled by your comments. I too find it quite interesting (and often revealing) to see the designs that are less of my "usual" style.

ShaniFaye 08-09-2004 07:01 AM

I really like the first one too, very innocent yet sensual looking!!

apeman 08-09-2004 07:21 AM

lemme bounce some ideas off you? i'm quite picky ... wouldn't mind having that lass tattoo'd on my arm thought, she's fit ;) nice work too

anyway i'm going to New Zealand soon and they're well into their tattoos the Maori, i might get a couple :)

animosity 08-09-2004 09:18 AM

wow, you never cease to amaze me. I really love that first one.

skinnymofo 08-09-2004 11:48 AM

i likem, im a big fan of everything you put wings on

majik_6 08-09-2004 03:33 PM

Wow! Thanks for the kind words everyone.

Shanifaye: Thanks, that's sorta what I was going for...a restrained sexuality that's not even concious of it's own existence.

apeman: The traditional Maori designs are quite nice. If you ever wanna talk tattoos (and this goes for anyone else as well), shoot me a PM or msg me on whatever messenger I have listed in my profile.

animosity: such strong words from such a gifted artist as yourself are flattering and humbling.

skinnymofo: thanks! I'm kinda a wing junkie. I feel like there's few things in life that can't be improved with angel wings.

Yes, I love the first one. More of that please!

J-DaWg 08-11-2004 04:53 AM

majik_6 08-11-2004 06:15 PM

Lewis: thanks for the kind words. Hopefully I can produce a few more of the "softer" pieces such as that.

J-DaWg: Thanks. The tattoo designs are really a passion of mine.

Wow... I can't believe how beautiful that first pic is...thanks

majik_6 08-16-2004 02:32 PM

Thanks to both of you! Hopefully in a few weeks I can get a photo of the newest piece I've done. It's already found it's home with my best friend's platoon, but he may bring the original back after AIT.

The pencil drawing is very good but I'll bet you'd be happier with more contrast between the light and dark areas. Try a softer graphite for your quick sketches...

majik_6 08-17-2004 01:55 PM

wpulley: I most definitely agree! I would usually go with at least an HB or even 2B pencil for the darker areas. However, I'd just bought a new mechanical pencil and only had 2H lead when I did this picture. In real life, there actually 2 real values: blank paper and pencil with very very little blending between the two areas. For some reason, it came across as having much more depth in the scan. I think it's actually what draws me to the image. Almost as if it's more ephemeral...the thought of the image, more than the set image itself.

/philosophical b.s. :)
