Design a new TFP logo!

Hey all you talented people! Wanna make a TFP logo? I knew you did!

The logo may be used for website graphics, merchandise and other stuff, so while you will get credit for it, it would act as a sort of donation to the TFP. If i ever get it printed on stuff that I order in bulk, then you'll get a free one (ie: shirts). That's about all I can offer in exchange.

Guidelines:
Please no more than 4 colors
The original must either be in vector graphics (flash, illustrator) or rasterized to print about 8x8" at 300dpi.

Thanks.. look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Nancy 06-06-2004 11:38 AM

A new one? But I really like the one that's in use now :(

i did these in a half hour, so they aren't that creative, but im just trying to get things moving....

Redlemon 06-07-2004 01:20 PM

So, Hal, what don't you like about the current logo? This would probably help people focus their efforts.

Halx 06-08-2004 12:40 AM

there is nothing wrong with the current logo. It's creator is no longer with us, so I felt it would be best to have something that represents our current population.

wanker, thanks for your starting efforts. That style of design can be effective, but it's gotta have a little more symbolism. If you could mix some innuendo into the shapes and text, it could be interesting.

like what?

This forum is about a lot of things so I'm not quite sure I could pick out a specific one at the moment. I really like the angelic/devilish look at the current one - like dualism. Is there something particular symbolism you'd like the new logo to include?

Halx 06-08-2004 09:37 AM

I had this idea last night...

(tadpole) + TFP = (frog)

sadistikdreams 06-09-2004 06:04 PM

I'll whiip something up...

here's an attempt - rather eye-catching, exploits 'evolution'

minimalist shirt design .. top = front. bottom = back

Stare At The Sun 06-10-2004 01:05 AM

^ I like them both. I suck with art, otherwise, i'd contribute more than my nod of approval.

jwoody 06-10-2004 05:26 AM

Stare at the Sun provided the inspiration for this effort.

Hey Hal, be a good client, please! There's loads of people out here that would like to help, but we need a few reasons, some logic, a structure to work to. Yes? What's changed apart from your original designer leaving, where is the world going for you now?

TFP is wonderful, and I'd like to have a chance to work something out properly for you.

and yet another

Halx 06-10-2004 11:47 AM

I can't really define the TFP except for the key words that are in the tagline: The Evolution of Humanity, Sexuality and Philosophy.

Every person has their own interpretation of what the TFP means to them, so go off of that.

"titling project"

Halx 06-10-2004 02:44 PM

just a reminder.. please make sure that you all have originals that are either in vectors or 8-inches of 300dpi

Munku 06-10-2004 06:52 PM

Anyone have the original logo I can look at?

bernadette 06-10-2004 08:57 PM

is this it, yes?

http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/images/...rm/biglogo.gif

i haven't had time to attempt trying to make a TFP logo.
i am not a professional designer, just a little dabbler, so it's probably too big a task for me.

i'm stuck at trying to just put a grasp on exactly what TFP is... what statement this logo needs to convey...

that's the first step of logo design:
defining a clear definitive message to be presented in the form of simple concise graphic communication.

TFP is so much & so many different things to so many different people.
perhaps that is food for fodder though?

I just got some great ideas for the logo - I'll post my suggestions Tuesday :)

This was originally created as pure vector in Flash, original available. Yes, the shapes are that way on purpose. I like contrasting the cartoonish TFP with the words below it. But that may just be me. :) More to come.

I'll post some variations I have; but this is one of the ideas I came up with.

Halx 06-12-2004 11:30 PM

i'd advise to make the letters prominent.. unless it's exceedingly clever and done sharply

Hmmm...I see some pretty damn creative people here. These are very good. Very impressive. Halx, I don't envy you on having to decide on just one of them.

that's.. a fairly recognizable religious symbol, man

doodlebird 06-14-2004 07:49 PM

animosity (and all)...
that T with the tilted top is awesome.
simple, yet relevant to the name.

i disagree that you have to show WHY it's titled.
let folks figure it out on their own...
make up they're own story.

ambiguity is the key for me.
