I want to get a tablet for my computer... That's as far as I'll go to getting close to the real things..
I love the art work that's on the side of cars that's been done by the ol' air brush, it looks wicked..

I'm currently using , or rather not using enough
iwata custom micron SB iwata eclipse HP-SBS super silent 20A compressor husky 15 gallon compressor which is on a very long hose at the back of the house, then i feed it up to where i work, otherwise i'd be deaf. MC 250 professional projector, i bought a $49 cheapie (tracer) and i found it to be like all cheap airbrushing stuff, it suits you for a few pieces, then you quickly outgrow it. the 250 was around $250 but they went up $50 the day i bought mine, so i lucked out. i do mainly portrait work so i use createx, medea and for stuff i want to come out the best i use golden. i normally pick up canvas at aaron brothers since twice a year they have a two for one sale so i stock up then, i can't be bothered stretching my own : then i slap on some modern masters gesso, dry sand it down, and do that a couple more times. noah and coast airbrush sell a canvas that already has been gesso'd and sanded, its gallery ready to. i posted a few pieces, but i think that was the previous rev of the board, and nothing finished, since i've been concentrating redoing the house instead, but the bite has been telling me to go and do something so i've been researching what i want to do next. i wish i hadnt wasted so much money starting off with the cheapo stuff, it was in my price range at the time, but using it frustrated me a lot and i lost a lot of time where i could have been using a real brush. plus i ended up paying a lot more, since i replaced practically everything. What sort of work do you do ? |

not anymore i have to take some more and upload them again, i've been toying of the idea of doing a picture diary of my next piece, its just getting the time to do it.
I dunno about you but i need some chill out time before i paint, seems xmas isn't the time for that, i've had a gessod up canvas sitting for about 2 months i think. Which is wierd since i started in spray painting doing graffiti, not much chilling out time in that. I'm hoping to go to a few classes with noah as soon as i can, i took a couple of lessons here and there elsewhere it really helped me a lot. |

Cool, yea i have to be in the right state of mind. Can never be rushed and just have to do art when i feel like it.
Theres a guy here thats really awesome that gives lessons i might look into.. Im never good with that tho, might just have to learn myself.

I just got an Iwata Eclipse HP-CS (I think, too lazy to walk across the house to check) and a Devilbiss Finishline spraygun last week, and I'm itchin' to work with them...unfortunately Coast Airbrush didn't ship my airhose! Argh. Hopefully I can get the hang of it all before I go back to art school in January.
For learning purposes, I'd recommend getting ahold of Craig Fraser's Automotive Cheaptricks and SFX. The book is very informative, but the video can help you figure out the actual logistics of it all. And of course, Airbrush Action magazine has tons of info.
