Some pixel "art"..

Made these a while ago just playing around in MS Paint. Nothing special. The first one is where I used to live, the second one is where I would want to live if I had the $, and the third one is just a couple of silly pixel renderings of me. Eh.

That's actually pretty cool -- Ever think of going into space design?

cookiezzz 07-23-2003 09:48 AM

Designing space? Boy that sounds like a swell job ;)

I'm assuming (english is not my first language) that you mean like, an interior decorator or something?

Well, I have been considering looking into some design courses at university, but their requirements are very steep here. Still thinking about it though. I like designing. Although I doubt I have what it takes.

If you really want to give it a shot, try starting with a smaller and simpler object, like a TV, chair or a table, anything really. Try to get the perspective down right and practice a bit. It's really easy.

Also, check out the pixel-art section at www.deviantart.com. Sort the entries by favorites. There is some great work there and you can really learn from it by studying the good artists' technique.

It takes a lot of free time though. :(

didn't realize you could do things like that using MS paint. Cool.

damn those look good

CAN_skate 07-24-2003 09:29 PM

How do you have the patience for that? Especially in MS Paint! JEBUS!

How long do those take?

Dire Baka 07-26-2003 08:27 PM

That looks pretty sweet. It looks like an old video game.

scarecrow2 07-26-2003 10:18 PM

a space designer would be more along the lines of a Interior Designer......or even an architect....but mostly Interior Desogners do Space Planning..designing wall locations and furniture...you dont have to decide what colrs and patterns to use...that would be the decorators job....

great work though...i did a lot of this in other 3D programs when taking Interior Design classes in college....

tinfoil 07-27-2003 07:09 AM

Best... MS Paint... Ever.

Sorry about the reference, but seriously, that's first rate man, I haven't seen anything that good out of MS Paint... ever.

degarg 07-27-2003 08:37 AM

Wow.. you used MSPaint for those?? thats awesome

Fagabeefe 07-27-2003 12:01 PM

cinnles 07-27-2003 02:24 PM

Well the one with the big room probably took the longest, 3 or 4 hours perhaps (I did these about half a year ago so I don't remember exactly). Ms paint is a vastly underrated application, the simplicity of it is beautiful.

You do NEED patience though, but with a little dedication it's nothing. I like the style probably for the same reason I liked building scale models when I was younger, heh.

OMFUG 07-28-2003 08:35 AM

MAn, people who can use such a rudimentary program to produce stuff like that are amazing to me. I jsut want to buy them copies of Photoshop and watch thier minds run free, to see what they can really do.

analinguist 07-28-2003 03:44 PM

good stuff man.. if you like pixel stuff have you checked out eboy? he is pretty popular with that aesthetic.. also k10k.net promotes a lot of pixel style art. i'm a fan, i have problems getting stuff to look right at that 45 degree angree when it is like circular and not just square. tough shizzle to get right. i did a pixel drawing of michael jackson and zaxxon..i didn't have patience to finish the head tho
