Planting Time
This piece was a commission for a TFP member who has now received it in the mail, and said they like it. So I figure I can now post it here.
The client asked for something sexy and mysterious and fun, in the style of my Whimsies. The pieces "Fine Looking Fellow" for look and "Toothache" for colour were cited from my website Mark Johnson Fine Art - Wonder and Whimsy. I really liked the language used by my client and I may incorporate some of it in future discussions about possible commissions. "Actually, I've never commissioned a piece from anyone before, but I imagined it would go somewhat like a neurological lottery. I seed your brain with ideas and you paint me whatever comes out after processing, in your particular style and fancy. After all, what would a genuine kramus original be worth if it didn't reflect his own ambitions?" 16" x 12" pencil crayon and micron pen.

Thanks Sun Tzu.
I haven't done a Phoenix. Odd, because it would be a natural for my interests in the elements, circularity and connection, mythology and birds in general. Maybe it is because I have been creating my own images for so long that delving into existing stories just hasn't crossed my mind. That said, I ought to incorporate a Phoenix into some work in the near future
