Quick Tattoo Improvements
 

Hello all,

For reasons I really don't care to discuss, I am likely going to end up getting a tattoo similar to this one, which is supposed to be a Lambda from the Spartan Abbreviation of LakeDaemon, their homeland.

The design simply seems to be lacking something, perhaps a spartan shield around it, crossed spears, a profile helmet in the background, etc. Anything warrior oriented.

I have just about zero artistic talent and any suggestions, design ideas or improvements would be dearly appreciated.

Oh, BTW, failing any better suggestions I will probably be wearing the one I have posted by tomorrow evening.

Gnarly. Spears seem appropriate given their deadly point and long reach. They're not crude hacking weapons, they're deadly penetrators.

What's with the chain detail on the inside? And why red? Blue or black seems more appropriate given my limited knowledge.

My tattoos are all thick and solid black. I'm not big on color or detail. I want 'em to be bold and discernible when they put me in a casket.

Just a thought -- If you're sure you want the lambda as a design element, you can get it done now and have other details added later. That might be what you're planning, but I just thought I'd point out the possibility in case it wasn't.

If I were at all artistic I'd put something together for you, but I'm not.

I don't think a truly historical approach was part of the thought process.

I am thinking a Lambda on a shield will be a good compromise, possibly with crossed spears behind it.

Google images has about a zillion Lambda shields. Probably has one with crossed spears behind it.

But you already know that.

You would be surprised how hard it is to find one. At least, one that doesn't suck.
