The little street is my favorite - you brought your love for the paint into each piece.

There's a great softness to these. I like that quality in a painting, though I can never seem to harness it in my own.

You've found a great new medium, employed and enjoyed by everyone from hobbyists to the great masters. Have fun with and it can take you to some very cool destinations.

Cool that you are moving into oils they are diffiicult but also very forgiving....I've been there as an ex-art teacher and Artist.

Try using an almost black background and work forward fromt here....yes, it's a Renaissance approach but your style dictates that at this time. Never use pure black - ever. Best lesson I've ever learned in 50+ years. In nature nothing is just pure Mars Black. It's completely dead and limits your magic.

Go forward and just leave the white spots for pure light. Enhance.
Rule Number One: You can always go darker and add depth. You can never brighten and clarity to a piece past pure white. That's where the magic is.

I can't believe I just told you the secrets of real great art!! Bon voyage!!! Share your newer pieces.

Thanks for the tips...I am painting with a rather famous landscape artist here at the Ridgewood Art Institue...Many of the the other artist here have quite a following and hopefully I will get better as time goes by...I do a lot of my work alone at home, but when you paint with other artist you get a totally different perspective...a few more that I have just finished

Wow, some of these, including the marina and the street, remind me of childhood summers around the Mediterranean. I like them a lot.
Keep up the great work!

You Are doing better! The shadows are done well in all of these. I esp. loved the metal in the first one with the cask...very real and well chosen color blending. I can see it's cold and dimensional. Nicely done!

Do keep sharing.
