Butterfly

My cousin's widow came to my little show and asked me to draw her a butterfly. It's a commission, and I like butterflies, so if this is merely a wall enhancer as opposed to "fine art" . . . that's ok by me

Drew no particular breed of beastie - it is more to suit my urges while drawing.

colour pencils and a kiss of micron on the insect - 14" x 17" (35.5 cm x 43 cm)

I love your drawing. Butterfly's have always been one of my favorite creatures. Mostly because that is what my name means. Still, you're vary talented.

Thanks for checking out the butterfly Magpie and lostgirl
I have heard a couple of comments in another forum about my 4-legged butterfly In my rather weak defence here is the reference photo. All I can see is you get what you get

That's a fantastic replication of that butterfly. I love how you've put you're own twist/style to it as well to make it your own. Keep up the good work.

Thanks settie

I enjoy giving art my spin more than trying for pure replication Magpie. It's nice to work on the skill set needed to do a craftsman's job, but the fun factor is important too.

Thanks for that comment ryfo. It is exactly the sort of response I love to hear from someone.
