All this talk about makeup has moved me to share some of my favorite DIY beauty stuff with y'all... now, I know there's all sorts of websites out there that talk about DIY beauty stuff, but to me, I like to know someone has tried them out first to make sure they're not going to make my hair fall out or my nose fall off my face!

One of my most beloved ones is the exfoliating power of sugar and grapefruit. Just take a grapefruit, sliced in half legnthwise and a shallow bowl of sugar in the shower with you. With the water off, dip the grapefruit half in sugar and rub all over your body, re dipping in sugar as needed. The juice of the grapefruit has natural acids in it which dissolve the dead skin the sugar is sloughing off. This always makes my skin feel like a zillion dollars, doubly so when I follow up by moisturising with baby oil.

I also really like an egg-yolk mask for my face- mix an egg yolk with three to six drops of lemon juice (6 for oily skin and 3 for regular), spread on face (I use a soft paintbrush or blush brush) and let dry, then rinse off. This works better on my skin than most anything else!
