It's international women's day!
 

To recognize and celebrate this day devoted to international women, I intend to have intimate sexual relations with a woman from another country.

I feel it's the least I can do.

And it's not just cuz I'd have been doing that anyway.
Really, it's in recognition of the special day.

Had anyone else heard of this? What do you think of it? In all seriousness, I like the idea of reminding people that in many countries women are treated as second class citizens or property, and whatever helps us think about that is a good thing.

But I'm also serious about the sex with an international woman thing.

As the lone female in my office, I had suggested to the lovely gentlemen in my office that I should have been given the day off, and that they should also take their wives to dinner and bring them flowers for putting up with their sorry selves. (I did say this witha great deal of charm)

Does it count to have intimate relations with a woman of your same nationality but in another country?

I did nothing so special yesterday, but I did have some nice fish and chips for dinner with the companion of my choice. :)

Oh, and to answer your question, nobody in my life particularly acknowledged the day, except that the above-mentioned companion did say, "Yeah. I've never heard of that before" when I mentioned it. I've heard of it before but I think we need to spice it up to get people's attention. Have a big party! Make everyone give a present to the women in their life. Hell, get Hallmark involved, that'll teach them to ignore us!

Squishor: Of course it does! Sex in another country is by definition international.

We managed to score some free drinks (a glass of red wine) at dinner last night. We used the day as an excuse to get dressed up and go out for a nice dinner and dancing, and of course the international sex to cap off the evening.

Of course, that's how we cap off most of our evenings, but the free drinks were something new.

Well I certainly felt empowered by my fish and chips...

The only acknowledgement of the day came in my class where my professor is from France. As he put it - It's women's day, because every other day is a man's day. :rolleyes:

we had protests all over our campus. we are trying to create an intiive to ensure university clothing is not made in sweatshops, so as you imagine, Internation woman's day was filled with lots of pissed off people, boys and girls.

Dammit, I am late, I never ever heard of such day. Can I still make up? hehe. I've never been with a woman but when I think of her luscious beauty and her soft skin, I must admit that the thought is definitely appealing. :-)

Screw that, everyday should be women day, expect Thursdays. :-p
